jaw dropping It is all so real now!

I have spent the last 2 days printing, cutting, tying ribbon to, addressing envelopes, stamping, sealing envelopes...all in preparation to send out our Save the Dates.

THIS MAKES IT SO REAL!! For some reason, this makes it more real than buying my dress or booking both the ceremony and the reception site. This locks us into the time, place, date, etc.

Not that I don't want to get married....it just makes the entire thing so final and unchangeable. I am super excited to get married to FH, I've just never felt like this. It is finally real to me!

When is the moment the rest of you realized this?

Smile

Mine was when I put the invites in the mail. As I was walking out to the mailbox, I got that feeling of "This is really happening!" I walked back into the house with the biggest smile on my face.

My "moment" was when I was sitting in my wedding dress waiting for the seamstress. I was the only one there and it was really quiet and I guess because it was the first time I had actually stopped and really thought about it...that's when it hit me.

For me it was the first time I tried on THE dress. I stood there for about 20 minutes just feeling like a deer caught in headlights. I was scared, happy, nervous, elated, freaked out, etc. - all at the same time.

That's wonderful! Congratulations! Sounds like yout STDs were pretty elaborate! Did you have a kit or did you make them on your own?

Our moment was when we put the invitations in the mail. It's such a "Holy cow" moment. There is no turning back once those invites go out.

I was lying in bed with Mo, just leaning on one elbow looking at him when it just dawned on me 'I'm actually going to get to marry you!' And he said 'Well, yes Ann. What did you think we'd been planning?!' I guess up until that point it was just an abstract thought in my head.

It's like know when I book a holiday and it's months away and I'm thinking OK we're going to *** on holiday, but it doesn't really dawn on me until the night before that I really have to leave the country the next day! I think I'll be the same way with the wedding. Ever now and then it kinda hits me but I think the big realisation will come the night before. It hit me at the bells for Hogamany too, suddenly I was getting married this year!

My "moment" was at the rehearsal. It was then that I realized "Oh my God... this is really happening. What the hell am I doing?" j/k

I'm a bit slow to realize things... I'm still in disbelief that I'm pregnant... that'll probably hit me when I'm in labor or something!

They weren't that elaborate. I made them myself, not with a kit. I just took a piece of cardstock and printed on it, then tied ribbon around the top. However, each of the STD's was much smaller than the cardstock I printed on, so I had to measure and cut every STD out with my papercutter. Then I had to punch holes, cut and tie ribbons on each of them. Then I had to print addresses on each envelope. I sent them off today though, and I feel great!

It felt real to me when I ordered the invites. and then really real when I was getting ready to go upstairs to walk down the aisle. :-)
