Default Is this not what you expected?

I think it happens to all of us. We start out the planning with a giddy level of excitement, imagining how wonderful the year ahead is going to be, and suddenly everything deflates. The moms are bickering, the plans get done quickly and then there's nothing to do for months, the groom is involved but not as excited as you'd like him to be...in lots of ways, this isn't what you thought you'd be experiencing.

Let's hear your stories about those moments, days or months when reality didn't measure up to your expectations....and let's help the community by sharing what we did about it to return to engaged bliss again....

I don't have long to post, so i'll sum it up with this and come back later:

I never thought I'd be capable of murder until I got a month away from my wedding.

i had no idea how much anticipation i had towards our honeymoon... and for dh being in control of the details. i'm such a control freak that it was a relief and a reluctance to let him handle it... and then when we got screwed over by our caterer, dh had to inform me that he dipped into the honeymoon money.. ALL of it... i was so crushed. we were at the county registrar's office to get our marriage license signed and had the biggest fight (that we've still had to date!!) b/cs i was so stressed out about all the details and was looking forward to relaxing... but the good news is we just stayed home, and it was nicer than i thought it could be, just the two of us. we figure at this point that when the kids are old enough to stay w/ someone else we'll take that beach trip!!!

I don't remember any specific moments that triggered the let down feeling, but I can tell you what picked me back up. I found Bliss (Pash)! Lol - seriously, it was nice to be able to talk to others who were as excited for me and for their own weddings and willing to talk about it.
