Post August 30, 2008 Toronto, Ontario, Canada!

Well, hello everyone. I'm a newbie and I would like to officially announce that we *my FH Chris & I* Have not only picked a date ( August 30, 2008) Labour Day Long weekend here in Ontario But our Ceremony and Reception Venue as well!! Our special day will include an outdoor garden wedding ceremony immediately followed by a lunch reception BBQ on the terrace connected adjacently to an inside reception hall (where the tables and dancefloor will be)all at the same location.

We originally wanted a very small wedding guests counted to be 20 people--- destination style to Jamaica or somewhere as beautiful and tropical but in order to keep peace with my Mother we happily decided to accomodate and found a venue that suits our style beautifully in Ontario . My parents are now thrilled that we will be staying somewhat local and they-(mostly my father) have big and expensive plans for our wedding. However, Chris and I are trying our very best to keep the numbers small and the bottom line even smaller. We are working with a $5,000-7,000 budget everything in (food, officiant etc...) for 60 people in which we are commited and able to pay. I don't know if my father will be giving a contribution as of yet. And my Mother's contribution will help pay for a few of her guests (people I have not even seen since I was very young...like 7 years old) with the rest if there is any getting tucked away for our house fund. We are not relying upon their monetary contributions if any are to be given/had as we would like to ensure that we create a day that suits our style and budget without getting into debt or holding out for money from sources that may not have it to give. It will be a BBQ Luncheon Buffet with choice of steak, chicken or fish made to order on the Grill by the Server on the terrace. We will be having our reception in "Cinderella's Cottage" a beautiful room with floor to ceiling windows along one entire side with a cindrella theme in a light (not dark)stained glass art that looks from inside the reception "hall" out onto the terrace where there is a large water fountain.

Right now we are at 60 people on the guest list. The room can accomodate 110--- so my Parents can't invite the 200 people (mostly family including 1st, second, and third cousins)...they were implying AND we made it so that our wedding and reception will take place from 11:00am until 4:00pm on a long weekend...LOL, SOOO we're hoping that only 40 out of potentially 110 people show up! All done on purpose so that we can have a smaller wedding while trying to accomodate our parents as best as possible while sticking to our budget. Wish me luck and pray for my sanity!
