Directions
Personalize these wedding invitation templates by deleting the sample text and typing your own wedding information into the text boxes.
Font: The typeface used in these templates is Papyrus and is available for both PC and Mac platforms for Microsoft Word.
These templates are built to fit multiple cards onto a letter size page (8 1/2 × 11 inches). Once trimmed each card is a standard card size and will fit into standard sized envelopes. In order to ensure that the cards will fit into the corresponding envelopes, trim off the excess paper around the crop marks.
For each template, in order to get the colored background, you must print them on colored paper, for example, red on a cream paper. This was done in order to save ink. Try printing the template on different textures and colors to get the combination you want.
Card sizes and special instructions for each template are listed below.

Are you using Microsoft Word?
ETA: I just downloaded the invitation and opened it. When I did, it was as Read-only, so you wouldn't be able to edit anything on it.
What I then did was File - Save As, and saved it to a new location (just created a new folder on my desktop called invitations), and saved it there. When I closed everything and opened the document from that new folder, I was able to edit.
So -
1. Download the zip file of the color you want (or the individual template you want).
2. Create a new folder on your desktop titled Invitations.
3. Open the file you want to edit.
4. Click File - Save As.
5. Navigate to the new Invitations folder and save the file there.
6. Close Microsoft Word (and the original document).
7. Open the new saved version of the document from your Invitations folder.
Should work... If not, let me know and I'll play around some more.

You can't use Word Pad, you have to use Microsoft Word 97 or higher - could even be 2000 or higher now. Steve, any thoughts?
mrs2be09, when you try to open then, right-click and choose Open With instead of double-clicking. Open the file with Microsoft Word and see if that works for you.
What version of Windows and Office do you have?

You can also open Word, then open the downloaded file from within the application.

Changing Color and/or Picture
I am totally in love with this invitation theme. I am looking for any advice on how I could possible change it to a blue color and if possible change the butterfly to a flower. Can anyone help me figure this out please?

The zip files are in the post just under all the posts with each individual piece. I think you can jump to it by clicking the little arrow box next to what I've quoted in this post.
