Anyone have any suggestions about the best places in the USVI?

I'm considering:

Bolongo Bay, St Thomas

Marriott St Thomas

Wyndham St Thomas

Divi Carina St Croix

And open to suggestions and feedback!!!

Default USVI advice

Hi! I can't thank you enough for giving advice to people on this board! I can totally use it!

My fiance and I are in love with all-inclusive resorts. Any suggestions on great places to stay and marry in the USVI??

I am very interested in Bolongo bay, St Thomas, but have heard mixed reviews...

Hi!

Welcome to PASH! Let me see if I can offer my two cents worth. Actually the resorts that you picked here range in price and the services that they offer.

Comfortable & Lowest Cost

If you are going for a comfortable, ok resort then Bolongo Bay is the way to go. You have to be careful here to not pick a high tide date and time for a beach wedding because you will be under water. There is not allot of room there.

Excellent Wedding Programs

The two highest priced resorts Marriott and Wyndham are the best but they are also the highest cost. Is that cost worth it? Well, you will get alittle bit of a wedding package, but you are basically paying for allot of the features as a per person rate. That is true even if they have purchased an optional all inclusive plan. Both are like planning a wedding back home at your local Marriott or Wyndham resort. And the all inclusive package for both of them gives guests certain drink and menu choices.

St Croix

Honestly in the past 8 years we have only had four requests for that island and that was before the massive hurricane hit. So it has been a couple of years. We have sent people there on a honeymoon. Because of the travel to get there we have not had allot of request. Sorry I cannot help you on that one.

Hope this helps!

My fiance and I are looking to elope to the USVI. Just us, no family... all inclusive resort and maybe some wedding package? I checked out the Bolongo Bay resort and it looks great but maybe you could recommend any other options to compare? We are on a budget and not looking at upscale resorts but at the same time, we don't want something awful either. I guess, you can call it "somewhere in the middle" Could you recommend anything?

Another thing I am concerned about is the weather in St. Thomas. The time frame we are looking at is from about Sept. 7 to September 25. How likely are hurricanes and stuff like that?

I have never been to the USVI before and need help to pick an island. I read in your message that St. Croix is not that popular... I wonder why? And what about St. John - is it worth considering it? I usually prefer palm trees and an azure water.

Any advice you could give will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Flower. Welcome to Pash.
First thing, always make sure you check the date on a post before you reply.

Second I used to live in Puerto Rico in Vieques, it is a small island off the east coast. It is one of the Spanish Virgin Islands but they are owned by the US so there is no customs or money exchange.
So check out Vieques because it is really beautiful and one of the cheaper islands, last I checked anyway. I'm not sure what they have for resorts because when I lived there wasn't any but if you want something quiet and private that is a great place. Look into getting married on the bioluminesant bay!!
PS-that is hurrican season down there for all of the islands so it is completely hit or miss.

Dear Sarah+Tim,

Thank you very much for your reply!
I did see the dates and how old the previous posts were but decided to take a chance anyway. Too bad this forum is not so active, while it's exactly what I need right now.

Thank you for mentioning the island of Vieques, I briefly checked it out and it's absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely explore more... it's so beautiful!
