Default Bachelor Party

I am trying to plan the bachelor party for my best friend's wedding and I need some help. He is a recovering alcoholic so therefore the party cannot involve anything to do with alcohol. Any ideas??

Keep in mind that you never have to go with the "traditional" bachelor party ideas of drinks and scantily clad women, for whatever reason. My DH (who is allergic to alcohol and has no interest in strippers) and his friends got together and watched anime movies (knowing them, some of them were rather risque anime movies ). His best friend wanted to go bowling for his bachelor party. As long as it is something the groom likes to do and will have fun with "his guys"--whatever that is--then it's a party. Sporting event? Camping? Movie fest of X-rated movies? Sports movies? Stupid comedy movies?

My FH really wants to go to a climbing gym and go climbing with his buddies. Now whether they will actually do that is totally up to the guys...

My DH went camping, but they also thought about going to watch a baseball game as well.

My husband went to a bachelor party a while ago and they golfed all day, cooked steaks and lobster on a friend's grill, and then played poker all night. Of course they all had cigars and that type of stuff - made it a real "guys" night.

If you do a search online, there are a lot of companies that offer "alternative" bachelor parties such as sky-diving, skiing, hiking, camping, and so on. Check it out and I'm sure you'll find something that will interest your friend and buddies.

FH bachelor party his Best Man threw for him. They played basketball all day, then ate some faijitas with Best mans wife made up ahead of time (she was at my bridal party). Then they watched movies and hung out. No ahlcohol involved. He had a blast.

There are many things you can do.

Is he a die-hard movie fan? You can try to rent out a local theater and have a movie marathon or something.

Everyone has some great ideas. Just figure out one thing he absolutely loves (sports, movies, grilling, etc) and run with that idea. Good luck!

I agree that bachelor parties don't have to fall in the drinking/dancers category. A bachelor party is about having a GREAT time with all you friends and have the time of your life without your FW. Sporting events or even just watching a 'guy movie' at a theater and a fat steak dinner is cool sometimes.
You don't have to drink to have fun!
