cake topper/no cake
I have a little bit of a delima. I found the topper I want but It wont look good on the cake we had originally went for. What do you guys think would look the best with this topper. We need it to feed 150, and perferably round.
Here is the topper.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

What was the cake that you guys originally pick out? That is the same style of cake topper that we were looking at.

How about (thinking each layer 6" tall for the cakes then the frosting)
6" stacked on an with flowers around border (you save)
8" with short pillars with 1 layer of flowers tucked in on an (serves 24)
12" with short pillars with 1 layer of flowers tucked in on a (serves 56)
16" with flower around the border (serves 100)
or you could have longer pillar to tier the 6" from the rest of the cake
(this idea the cake is centered in the center)
Or you could do more of a stairway look by lining the cakes up on one side with no pillars (see below for some what of a visual) and have flowers casading down the front or side (depends on how you turn the cake)
6
8 8
12 12
16 16
Or you could do something like the stairwell look but slightly move each cake so it is more of a curving stairwell look
I use Wilton's serving guide and cutting (1" by 2").
I gave you a little extra cake bc if you do different flavors people might want to try another. I know bc my cake served 128 and I had about 85 people attend and I had NO cake left except the piece I saved for our anniversary.
Just so you know typically you want 4" between the sizes if you plan to stack them and have something put on the layers. You can do 2" but then you only have 1" all the way around if you center in the center of the cake.
Hope this helps.

I like this one the best so far, but I don't like the flowers on it. The flowers just don't appeal to me. Matt wants a solid white cake and so do I

Here is the cake we are doing. I also ordered the letter N to go on top. We are putting it in the middle of the roses. We have thought about doing it round just don't know yet.

I think that cake topper would also look very elegant with a simple, square cake. If you prefer round it would look great with that too. But don't let that limit you, because the cake topper would definitely look good with a square cake.

I really like the simplicity of this one. Of course no flowers on it, but I think it would look the best. Do You think it would look on with pillars inbetween the top 2 layers?

I think putting the top layer on pillars would look nice...you could have flowers peeking out there, too, that maybe cascaded down...

If you did SHORT pillars it would look alright. Tall pillars would make the cake look uneven depending on what sizes of cake you went with. Though, here is an example of tall pillars where it is even looking:

Thank You girls. I think I have an idea of what I am going to do for the cake now. I have kinda put a few of the cakes together to get what I want.
