Bahamas
I want to get married in the Bahamas and was wondering what would be a nice hotel to stay at while there. I am looking for a hotel where I would not have to share a room with anyone else but my fiance. I would also like a hotel that has many activities and is a three to five star hotel. Any information and advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

We honeymooned at The Atlantis Resort & Casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. (It's only a short bridge over from Nassau.) It was amazing and I highly recommend it. Oh, it's 5 star.

Quick Intro.
I'm new to this whole posting thing, so I'll do my best at an intro... I just recently got engaged last month. My fiance and I are both teachers at a local high school. One great thing about being a teacher is that I get a whole summer to plan the wedding and a whole summer next year to celebrate our wedding We are thinking about the Bahamas for our wedding, but it is so scary trying to plan a wedding from so far away. I thought that talking to people about their experiences would help me plan my wedding, which is how I arrived here.

We'll try to help you as much as possible! The bahamas sounds so nice. I haven't been there.
Have you started to explore on the internet. I'm sure you can find some hotels and places to go online.

Unlike Heather, I've never been to Atlantis. but from what I understand it is probably the best/nicest place to stay in the Bahamas.
But I do know that Sandals has a very nice location in the Bahamas and they give you a lot of help with wedding planning. Sandals is all-inclusive, and I believe they don't charge for the actual wedding.
I'd check them both out

When we booked our honeymoon, we did it through Apple Vacations (you can find them online). They have a ton of travel options and I belive they can help you with a destination wedding. Most of the nicer, larger resorts in the Bahamas have wedding coordinators that will take care of the details for you. I would start visiting their web sites and collecting information. Good luck!

Thats where my brother and sister in law had their honeymoon and they loved it and would highly recommend it as well.
I think some of the activities they did, from what I can remember, was they took a helicopter tour, a boat ride and snorkeling. They said it was all beautiful.

Bahamas Wedding
Hi,
My name is Lindsay, the new Ask the Destination Wedding person here at Pash Weddings. I know this is a late posting however I wanted to make sure that other destination wedding couples who are looking at Bahamas, know this before they book.
Right now the Nassau/Paradise Island area is going through some changes. There is three major resorts who are going to be converted into one major resort complex over the next three years. Please be careful. They have not given us set time lines where we could have clients avoid the construction hassles. So that does not sit well with our company. We don't want people on the beach listening to your vows and jack hammers in the background. Not our ideal romantic moment.
I would look into the Grand Bahamas island or some of the Out islands for other choices.
Best wishes on your special day!
Take Care,
Lindsay
