Default Throwing Bouquet

Kind of a sill question, but are you supposed to throw your bouquet or are you supposed to throw a bouquet with silk flowers? Or should I get another bouquet with real flowers just to throw?

I'm on a real tight budget, but just hate to see my beautiful bouquet tossed away, just to get demolished by a bunch of screaming girls.

I am having fake flowers anyway. I found a cheap place that does great work. And i am having one extra BM bouqet made up to toss. That way i dont have to toss mine, and i am the only one with one like mine! Thats just what i am doing tho. . . i dont think it matters as long as you are happy!

Thanks. I just cant see spending another 50-75 dollars for another brides bouquet just to throw away! I'll have to look into the silk flowers some more.

If I wanted to make it myself, how hard is it to do? My flowers are red roses, and the MOH & BM are carrying white roses... Should I do one with red and white to throw or stick with the red like my ceremony bouquet?

I think it's really up to you! I've seen brides do it all kinds of ways - throw smaller bouquets, throw "fake" bouquets, or even throw something else instead of the bouquet (like a stuffed bride bear). You can use whatever flowers you want, real or fake, as small or large as you want.

You should check with your florist first - they may be able to whip up something small and simple for you to throw for the price of a fake bouquet. I've even seen bridal packages where the toss bouquet is included...

Same here.

We did have an anniversary dance and gave the "winning" couple a pretty small replica of my bouquet. I used silk flowers.

I had a tosser bouquet so I wouldn't have to throw mine. The tosser was also real flowers, and I think ran about $50. You could definitely use silk flowers and do it less expensively.

Lots of women use toss bouquets, because the "real" one is so expensive, or too big really to throw (like some huge cascade types--you'd someone out with one of those!).

I didn't throw a bouquet, however. I gave it to a dear friend at the end of the night.

I made all the flowers using gebera daisies silks and some greens.
I made a smaller bouquet to toss.

I used silk flowers, but I made a separate toss bouquet anyway. I knew I'd want to keep mine as a souvenier, plus I had a giant conch shell as a holder - the idea of flinging that across the room and knocking someone unconcious ot having it shatter in a zillion pieces just didn't sit too well with me. The toss bouquet had the same flowers but was smaller, and the stems were glued/tied together (no seashell).

Thank you Cowboy's Girl! I still check even if it is a few days later... just incase someone left anymore advice! I am also having the MOH & BM carrying white roses... I will definately have to check it out. Thanks!!! If you are still looking for some ideas to go with the roses and red & white color scheme let me know. I have 99% of the decorations done already!

Actually, what did you do for invitations? I have another thread over in invitations. I am lost with the invitations. Plus I didnt leave a whole lot in the budget for them.

Hi there!! I am so excited to have someone else that is using the same flowers!! What are you wedding colors? We went with black and white for our colors and this is the invitation that we used:
http://www.theamericanwedding.com/sh...id-351-cat-116
(I really hope that link works!!)

I also saw some DIY invites at Michaels last night that had a piece of vellum over a pic of a rose...I am not sure on the price...I want to say $30 for 50, but not completely sure. Anyway, if our wedding wasn't so close (July 7) I would have had a difficult choice because they were very nice. If there is anything else I can help with/talk about...just let me know!!

Congratulations on the very very upcoming wedding! Wow do you feel prepared so far?

I actually saw those invites, but my colors are red, white, and silver. The black was a little overpowering for my color choices, but I would have totally gone with them if I had chosen black as a primary color too!

I have not gotten a chance to go to Michaels. But I have done a lot and I mean a lot of my shopping off of ebay, and found some incredible deals. I actually got my hands on a set of 12 Red Rose topiaries, 18" tall for only $120!! and thats with shipping and everything!! They are gorgeous!

Check out my recent description of my ideas on invitations under the invitation threads! Its kind of long... but a pretty good description. I am going to try and copy the link to an invitation very similar to what I am thinking of doing myself.
