Default DIY Project: Conch Shell Bouquet

Conch Shell Bouquet

Submitted by: TheaterDiva1

Materials:
  • Conch shell w/ open spiral end
  • Silk flowers
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scent spray

Instructions:

I got the shell at a shop at South Street Seaport that sells seashells. Then I went to the craft store for the flowers. Starting with the back side of the shell (the side I wanted towards me), I glued a row of flowers along the inside of the outer layer of shell. Once I got all the way across, I did the same with the second layer of shell, and so on with each row until I
got to the center peak of the shell. I arranged the smaller flowers to be front and lower so all the flowers would be visible.

I did this a few months before the wedding and covered the shell in protective wrap until the morning of. Then I fluffed out the flowers, made a couple of last-minute repairs with the glue gun and sprayed scent spry on them. That was over two years ago, and now, up close, you can still smell it.

I did the same thing for MOH and BM's, but smaller, and they had mostly white flowers with some color accent.

Thanks! I'd been looking for something unique and couldn't figure out what. I went into a seashell shop at South Street Seaport and came across the shells and thought they'd be perfect.

Don't worry - I didn't throw it - I made a toss bouquet.
