Default Hiring a Wedding Planner

Hello everyone!

When is the perfect time for you to decide that alas you need a wedding planner?

I guess I don't really understand your question...there's no "perfect time"--if you decide you need a planner, you should get one. I've seen planners brought in two weeks before the wedding, and more than a year before the wedding!

ETA--tell us a little about yourself/your situation (you can start an intro in the Bridal Journals section)--we love to give ideas and opinions!

But I'm quite low in budget. Is it possible to hire a wedding planner who will just be present in some parts of the wedding? For instance, I just want some professional help during the reception and nothing more.

What would you need a planner to do during the reception? Generally, once the reception is underway, the planner's job is done. Do you need someone beforehand to make sure all your vendors show up and things are set up the way you want them? Do you have a friend, acquaintance, or significant other of someone in your wedding party or something that could help you out?

Many planners do offer "day-of" services; you'd have to check with them to see if they'd just do a reception. If you just have a few things at the reception, it may not be worth the cost even if someone would do it.
