Marriage Licenses

Question:

If you do not get married within the 33 days allowed in a marriage license, how soon can you re-apply?

any help would be great.

This may vary by state (as does the amount of time for which it is valid, the cost, and what is required to get one). As far as I can tell doing some quick research, Virginia doesn't have any restriction on applying for a second license if the first has expired, assuming you are still eligible to get married. You'd need to pay the fee again, etc., but I don't see why there would be a "waiting period" between when one expired and when you could get another.

I forget where you're located...

ETA: I've already found a few state websites that specifically say that if the license expires you will need to apply for another, but do NOT mention any restriction on when you can do so. I think you can get a new one right away.

here you have 90 days from the date you are issued your marriage license to get married, and if you dont you need to re-apply again...

You should check the date of the thread. This one is from may of last year, and the original poster is already married
