SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
I am the maid of honor for my best friend who is getting married in Sept.. I want to throw her a fun party this summer with all of our friends.. We all were thrown a "stock the bar party" for our weddings but we can't do this because she's not allowed to bring alcohol to her wedding site.. I have searched all over the internet trying to find a fun party idea but have had no luck.. CAN ANYONE HELP ME???

I've heard of a stock the bar party for housewarming parties but never for a wedding. Do you mean that you ask the shower guests to bring bottles of liquor for the reception?
As for fun shower ideas, there are a ton... What is the bride into? Is it a bridal shower or a co-shower where hubby and his boys will be attending?
We just had one girl pull together a Tiffany themed shower & it's going to be amazing.
Just give us a better/clearer idea of what you're all into or what the bride is into and I guarantee you'll have a hundred ideas to choose from. We're good.
Welcome to Pash!

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
We want to have a party where all of our friends are invited.. But I want it to have some sort of theme.. And yes at our stock the bar party each guest brought a bottle of liquor, we provided the drinks for that night so everyone enjoyed helping us out so they knew that they would have a good time and have plenty to drink at our wedding.. We usually provide food and drinks at these parties.. No one is obligated to bring a gift but it is a nice jester if they do.. I can't do a Kitchen theme because they already have everything they need in that dept.. I just want it to be a lot of fun for everyone.. Any ideas are greatly appreciated

How about a BBQ summer fun theme?
Do they like to BBQ?
You could all pitch in for a decent gas bbqer. (is that even a word, LOL)
Then things like apron, utensils, marinades, outdoor chairs, fun things that they can use. Outdoor candles and decorations. Things for every budget of gift giver. You get the idea.
That was my first thought when I saw you said "this summer" you wanted to throw the party.
Those are things that will last a long time and bring lots of happy memories.
Oriental Trading Company has ALOT of things that you could use for theme wise. (not endorsing them)
My head is reeling right now with ideas.
As said before. Get your general idea picked out and post it, the girls here come up with WONDERFUL ideas.

How about a "Honeymoon Party" where gifts can be themed on where they are going, for example a swimming suit, beach towels....
Bedroom Party, living room party, back yard party..... the list goes on. Do the bride and groom camp and/or hike? Then that would make a great theme maybe too.
For better ideas, please let us know a little something of the bride.

Hey there -
The idea was mentioned about if they like to hike or camp, but what about all around out-doors type stuff. For a shower I planned, I threw a tea-party shower (her favorite childhood book was Alice and Wonderland). Everyone dressed up like those Southern ladies that you see drinking mint juleps and playing cards. We had it outside and the big present was a beautiful patio set (some of us chipped in, but it was mostly from her family) We played croquet (ok, we hit some croquet balls, I don't think any rules were actually followed) and she also received a volleyball/badmitton net and a lot of other outdoors stuff. I don't know how well this would work for your friend, but we had a blast.
