What do you think?
Ok, as I'm a bit blonde and a procrastinator, I'm just now getting around to this. (Honestly, I just keep forgetting.)
We received a candle holder set for the shower last May. After the wedding, I had them out on the table for awhile then finally put them back up because they are the most unstable things ever. (Hence why my unity candle has a nice chunk missing out of it now.) I'm wondering if I can return them...I still have the box and the bags, etc. it came wrapped in.
It's from JCPenny, and while it wasn't on our registry we do have one there. I also need to go use my gift card there as well so I thought I'd do double duty.
Do you think they'll let me return/exchange it for something I do want?

A lot of stores will still give store credit even if you don't have the receipt. I think JCPenney is still one of them. Give them a call and ask what their return policy is for items without a receipt. If they do take it, it will be at the lowest price (for example if the item is on sale you'll get that amount in credit, not the full price even if that's what your friend paid).

Can't promise but I think they go by the lowest ticket price int he past 90 days. I don't think I would tell them you got them a year ago.

Without a receipt, you will only be able to return them if they are still in the store inventory. And like NovemberGal said, it will probably only be for store credit and the lowest price. But it's definitely worth a try. If they ask approximately when you got it, say it was a wedding present you just got around to using, and decided you didn't like.
