Default A Tiffany themed shower

Ok, I'm starting a new thread because the other was getting jumbled and I've switched gears a little bit, lol.

Colors - Tiffany blue and lavendar for accents (her wedding color).
Cake - Three (or two) tier (small sizes) angel food cake with strawberry, chocolate, and rasberry glazes. Stacked and decorated to look like Tiffany boxes.
Invitations - Blue cards with white ribbon in a box design.
Centerpieces - I think this might change. I orginally wanted to do the suckers, but that was before I decided on this theme. Now I'm thinking little boxes in blue of course with pearls hanging out of them with maybe some kind of edible candy inside. (White M&M's maybe?) Or wait, maybe white chocolate suckers in small blue/white cubes....hrm, another idea.
Decor - This is still up in the air. Other than tulle and tissue paper flowers, lol. I still need to watch the movie to get a better "feel" of the vibe.
Games - I detest shower games with passion. That being said, there will be a minimum, and they aren't active games. One I'm thinking of is a crossword puzzle (I'll make it myself from a website). Another is gift bingo so the guests will have something to do while she's opening presents.

Think that's it for now. As always, your suggestions are always appreciated.

That all sounds wonderful. What site did you find to create your own crossword? I like that idea!

You can go to puzzlemaker.com and create different types of puzzles. You just fill in your words and it creates it for you. It's a really neat site.

SUNGLASSES!!! Give away her trademark sunglasses!! They'd be really cheap at a dollar store or something.

Let's see...you could also give away the cheapie rings you get in the quarter machines. In the movie they have one of those engraved at Tiffany's.

That's all I have for now. Let me think about it a bit more.

Rings like this?
http://www.orientaltrading.com/appli...INGS+%286DZ%29

Sunglasses would be too expensive. Even at $1.00/pr, multiply that by 40...plus I doubt ppl would use them. I know they won't use the rings either, but those are much cheaper, lol.

I like these rings a little better -- and it would only be like $30 to get them for everyone and a few to decorate with. I have no idea what your budget is, though.

IMO, you don't need to do favors at a shower.

Those rings are great - I would definitely use those for each of the women. I've never been to a shower where there wasn't a favor, so maby you could implement the cupcake idea with blue frosting and a candy bow? Pack each of those in a little white box (or blue box) and tie it with a ribbon. It's somethnig nice and cheap they can take home.

Most of the showers I've been to didn't have favors for the guests.

What about long strings of fake plastic pearls? Even folks who didn't come dressed up could pop them on and knot them.

Favors aren't normally given around here for showers either. Really, should the centerpiece be edible that does double duty, lol. Otherwise, I'll just use some bling for decoration. (If one of the other girls offered up some moolah then I'd do it, but seeing as how I can't ask them for money, I'm not planning on it.)

I really like the pearl idea...and that can be easily done.

I was thinking about having little boxes ready for others to take any leftover cake home if they wanted though.

Oh, another thing....

What on earth do I get for door/game prizes? Candles? That's all I've come up with.

Door prizes...what about some cheap costume jewelry? You know, the kind that looks like a lot of bling but cost next to nothing! That'd fit in well with the Tiffany's theme.

I didn't read through the whole thing, but I found this page on suggestions for a Tiffany themed shower/party:
http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf908300.tip.html

Tiffany blue favor boxes, ribbons, etc.:
http://www.sophiesfavors.com/themes_tiffblue.htm

Most people like candles, so I think they'd make good prizes.

I went to 30th Birthday party that had a Tiffany's theme and they had centerpieces that were martini glasses.....filled with aqua dyed water and a floating candle and costume jewelry (much like what you had above) scattered at the base of the glass. I think they let the birthday girl keep the martini glasses as part of her gift.....

That's a cute idea too...although I've fallen in love with the idea of white roses. Simple, but elegant. And not too overly expensive. Combine with vases from the Dollar Tree...and voila - door prize. I love things that do double duty.

I do know that my friends have many many martini glasses so that would be something I wouldn't have to purchase.

On a side note, I told DH last night (he always jokes with me and asks me if I'll marry him) that the Tiffany blue would be our color.

Renee I was thinking you could take those rings and use them as napkin rings. I know you would have to roll the napkins pretty tight but I think that would would be ok since you are planning on haing munchies.

How about ring pops?

I will say that I'm having the damndest time finding the right color tissue paper. It's in all the variety packs, but I can't find any packs in just that color. Very aggravating.

Do you have one of those big discount party supply stores near you? There are a couple here, and I remember seeing packs of tissue paper in all one color before.

I also found this, not sure if it's quite the right color:

I went to one supply store, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnn's this evening. No luck in those...there's another party store up north that I want to go to though.

That looks right on my monitor (the tissue paper), thanks for the link!

Ring pops are a great idea. I love them. You could buy a whole bunc and put them all over the tables.

I went today to the hotel to make sure everything was ok with my reservation...and I'm glad I did b/c my info wasn't in the computer. They had it, just not where it should be. So we got that fixed and then I checked out the room again to get a table count and a good visual of the room for decorating.

There are 10 tables, two of which will have the cake and drinks on. Another one set aside for gifts (possibly). Which leaves me with 8 for centerpieces, so not too bad. May need less depending on how I decide to arrange the tables. It may be a bit cramped if everyone shows though! Lol.

I also found out that champange is ok which makes me happy. I gotta hunt down a punch bowl or two for the sherbert punch....I wonder if I could mix in champange with one of the bowls...sounds yummy.

Now that the invites are out, it's on to the games and decoration planning stage.

I did a mothers daughter dinner tonight. As I was cleaning up there was a door prize left that wasn't gave away. Every one had already left so yep I packed it up with my stuff. If I would of left it one of the hotel workers would of taken it and I liked it so I took it. It was a picture frame from Family Dollar it didn't look cheap at all I was surprised to see the family dollar sticker on it. It was only $2 but it so cute and would be great for prizes. You could always use a few to put on the table and put picture of the bride and groom in them and hang pearls from them. I'll post a picture in a few min.

Sorry my pearls are boxed up so I just grabbed something close.

I'm doing a bridal shower in a few weeks and I'm useing mirror tile they are 12 X 12 and I'm putting a votive in the middle and taking strings of pearls (not necklaces) and sprinkling some crystal on the mirror. After you talking about white roses I might just put a white rose on the mirror.

That's a good idea LJ! Most everyone can use a picture frame...and if they don't want it, they make good re-gifts. You're awesome girl! Thanks.

So I think with picture frames, a couple candles (they're good size candles in a jar), and the roses/centerpieces to give away that should cover the prizes for games and give aways. Awesome.

And you had to go and mention mirrors. But I think I will borrow the mirrors I used for my wedding back from my friend and set the roses on that on the tables. I need to hunt down some crystal-y things...they're $6 a box at Wally World and I forget how much at Hobby Lobby. But still...there's gotta be a cheaper alternative.
