Birdcage Card Holder
Materials:
- Metal Birdcage (bought mine at Bigg Lots, pictured in attachment)
- Chrome Sparypaint
- Beading Wire (the thinner gauge the better)
- Bag of beads to match your wedding colors
- 1"satin ribbon in your wedding colors
- glue dots
- PATIENCE
hehe
Instructions:
1. Spray paint the birdcage with chosen spraypaint
2. I needed three coats of paint, so do whatever you think works
3. Cut ribbon to the correct hight of birdcage, leaving 1/2" extra for the fold over on each end.
4. Wrap the ribbon around each section of birdcage, using the glue dots to adhere the end to the inside part of ribbon
5. Once you are finished with the ribbon, start winding the beading wire through the birdcage, adding a bead or two every so often. This step took a while, but it was worth it.
6. Add as many or as little beads as you feel necessary.
I was TOTALLY opposed to birdcage cardholders, but after taking this one and transforming it, I am a FAN! It goes nicely with the colors of our wedding, and doesn't look tacky like some birdcage holders can look
