i think it's because all women want true love, but we're so afraid of being burned that we push away what could very well be Mr. Forever. I think it's a sense of wanting him to walk through the door and sweep her off of her feet. By focusing on the oranges and fengshui stuff, she was giving herself an outlet to dream of the 'perfect man'.
