Default Fantastic *Waterproof* Eyeliner and Mascara Finds!

Hello Brides to be!
I am always getting questions on the best waterproof eyeliner and mascaras. I recently went shopping at the local CVS (what fun!!) and I discovered some fabulous waterproof finds perfect for your wedding day!

Mascara

Maybelline Lash Stylist

Now, I have been raving about Maybelline Lash Stylist mascara since I tried it, but I only tried the regular Lash Stylist formulation. I just tested the waterproof formulation and wow! What staying power! I applied it in the morning and by noon, no smudging or traveling. I splashed some water on my face and let the water trickle down to see if it would smudge (Ah yes, the things I do to properly test makeup for you all!) and it didn't budge! If you want dramatic, curled, thick, long and separated lashes, I would definetly recommend this mascara (in waterproof formulation) for your wedding day!

Maybelline Define-A-Lash Lengthing Waterproof Mascara

This is the newest mascara from Maybelline, and the brush is a hybrid between plastic and fiber brushes. While it doesn't give the dramatic effect that Lash Stylist does, it gives a softer and fuller apperance. For those ladies who have naturally thick lashes but want a little more definition and fullness, this is the mascara for you. Personally, I like to apply Lash Stylist to my top lashes and Define-A-Lash on my bottoms. (in case you were wondering, yes it passed the "face full of water" test )

Eyeliner

Styli-Style Waterproof Line N Seal Eyeliner

This little wonder has been on the market for awhile, but I never tried it until a fellow makeup artist insisted that I try it out. Well, needless to say I fell in love! If you want to smudge these out a little for a smokier look, be quick as they set very fast! There is a special edition that has it's own sharpener on the lid so be sure to look for it!

Maybelline Lineworks Waterproof Liquid Liner

I know i've discovered alot of Maybelline products, but they are so great!! I used to be a liquid liner fanatic, and then I gradually grew to be a more "gel liner" kind of girl. I decided to try liquid liner again because a few brides of late have requested a more crisp, sexy line that only a liquid could deliver. I tried this one out on myself, and I was very surprised. This liner dries very quickly as well, and you can feel that it won't budge! I wouldn't suggest using it on your inner rims or even below (it's really hard to get it not to look too dark or dramatic when using liquid on the bottom) but for the top, it has my seal of approval!

Again, all the products I mentioned above can be found at your local CVS pharmacy for very reasonable prices. Happy shopping!!

You mentioned you wouldn't use the last one to line your lower lids so I was wondering if there was a product you would recommend for lower lids. I always have a problem making mine stay on the lower, and forget about making it stay if I try my inner rims. Suggestions?

Actually, the Styli-Style pencil works really well for that use with a little bit of black (or whatever color eyeliner you will be wearing) shadow patted on top to give it some extra staying power.

If you are looking for a nicer product that shows up better, but its a bit more expensive, you can find a place near you that sells Guerlain cosmetics (you can find a location at www.guerlain.com) Look for thier Terracotta Loose Powder Kohl. This product is simply amazing (and beautiful to boot!) Kohl powder is what Ancient Egyptians, Middle Easterners, Indians and Pakistanis used centuries ago to decorate and line thier eyes with. It is very dark and has incredible staying power. I would suggest these two products/ideas to line the inner rim of your eyes. Other pencils and such I have found are too hard or too soft and they smear easily. I hope I have answered your question!

Thanks! I'm just randomly playing right now while I still have time. So it's definitely nice to get some recommendations to try.

That's the best thing you can do. Try things and see how they wear during the day. That way, when it comes down to it, you won't have any unexpected surprises. If I find anymore incredible eyeliners I will report back

Ok, I have some more additions to add to the waterproof eyeliner review!

Maybelline has come out with some GREAT lasting eyeliner and mascara products...I can't believe I am just starting to notice!

Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner

I have been on the search for more affordable lasting eyeliners to give to my brides during thier consultations. I decided to try the Unstoppable Eyeliner from Maybelline since I had such great results with my previous buys. All I have to say is WOW! It really does last all day! I used it even in my inner rims ( a place where I have only found two liners to last there) and with minimal (and I mean minimal) smudging in the inner corners because I accidentally rubbed my eye, it stayed all day! I am very excited

Maybelline Line Stylist Eyeliner

I have a fellow makeup artist friend who has severe allergies, her eyes usually itching/watering once a day. She too is always on the search for a lasting eyeliner. Well, I tried these liners and fell in love with them when lining the top and bottom of the eye. They are thin, and you can make the line thin or thick, depending on your need. They don't skip and are surprisingly smooth. I told her she must try these, and so she did. She said that she applied the liner, did some gardening, played with the dogs, took a shower and it was still on her eyes! (not smudged, of course). She is in Line Stylist heaven, needless to say

If anyone else trys another product they have fallen in love with, be sure to tell us!
