DIY Project: Kids Seating Chalkboard "Favors"

Kids Seating Chalkboard "Favors"

Materials:

• small white craft boxes (pencil boxes) bought at Michael's Crafts
• Spray can of Chalkboard paint
• newspaper
• 1-5 piece of cardstock (depending on how many boxes)
• Low grade sandpaper
• chalk

Instructions:

1. Use the sandpaper to sand the top of the box lightly to take of the sheen
2. Open the lid and put the whole piece of cardstock in the box and shut the lid. This will be used as a guard so you don't get spray paint on the rest of the box.
3. Spray the top of the box lightly
4. Let dry
5. Spray again
6. After the box is completely dry, color all over the box with white chalk and wipe off with a DRY cloth. This "preps" the box for more chalk writing later.

Since the adults are getting favor frames, I am giving the kids their own "favor" box. Inside will be crayons for the coloring books I made, wrapped candy and a piece of chalk for more drawing at the reception.

These are such a cool idea! I was trying to think of some way I could incorporate them into my wedding (cause they seem like fun) and I think I'm going to use them to store "guest book" materials on each table.

(Instead of having an actual book for people to sign, I am going to have various shape/color cards for people to put messages on - and then use them in a scrapbook with pictures of those people.)
