Hi Pillslee
Protocol and social etiquette has always dictated that the guests of honor would open up the dance floor. At a wedding, these would be the Bride & Groom unless a monarch or country leader such as the President were present. Then the head of state would dance first – typically, they would be considered the honorary host. So unless you have the President coming to the wedding we have the Bride & Groom 1st followed by the honor dance by the bride’s presenter at the ceremony and the bride. This is typically the father of the bride but due to circumstances, it may be a surrogate.
