Bed, Bath, and Beyond
This kind of goes with my venting thread.
My bridal shower was 6/3/2005. We registered at BB&B. This morning, we realized that some of our dinner plates had cracked (not sure why, probably defective) and my MIL lost 2 of the matching bowls. We went to BB&B to see if they have any way to get the pieces because they have since been discontinued. They tracked down the plates and bowls and even did an even exchange to replace the plates.
I am so glad that I registered with BB&B. Just wanted to let everyone know!

Wow! Most stores aren't willing to go out of their way like that. Especially when the item was purchased so long ago.
That's great! We need more customer service like that.

Macy's will do the same thing. A platter that I had was cracked when I opened it, and I had forgotten about it until we moved. I brought it back and they're sending me a new one. I was married 3 years ago, lol.

I LOVED having our registry there. They were incredibly helpful and you could get cash for all your registry items if you recieved doubles! So nice!

I love BB&B. That's awesome that you were able to get your bowls and plates. I'm glad I registered there too...although we didn't end up with any dinnerware from them. They've always been very helpful to me.
My only beef was that the 10% off remaining registry items was only good for three months after the wedding. By the time I remembered it was already past the three month mark.

WOW! Good to know... we were just talking the other night about where we'll register, and it was pretty much BB&B, Target and Home Depot. Good to know BB&B is so good with their customer service!

We registered at BB&B as well, and have done lots of non-wedding related shopping there, and have ALWAYS had great customer service, from simple things like asking where an item is to the woman in the bridal registry who demonstrated the toughness of bone china by whacking a dinner plate on the edge of her solid wood desk!
I highly recommend them.

They will also give you store credit for gifts from unknown stores if they have something similiar in the store. And if you ask sometimes they'll let you use that 10% off coupon beyond the 3 months, I think that kind of depends on who your talking to though.

We had decided to do LNT instead because they give 20% completion to be used multiple times, but cash back on doubles sounds like a good benefit too, huh?
I'm torn again LOL

I think that's where we're registering too... though I'm still unsure about Target, cause I think it would duplicate a lot of things from BBB...
I'm so excited, they are opening a new BBB near us - the closest one used to be an hour away!

BB&B also gave a discount on completion, for six months after the wedding. I think it was 20% but can't remember exactly.

We registered at LNT. We got a 20% discount for a year after the wedding, and they gave cash back for our duplicate item returns.

It's when the store gives you a discount on any items not purchased from your registry, that you then buy to complete your registry after your wedding. The cool thing at BB&B (and probably others do this too) was that when we went to shop, we found things we wanted that were NOT on our registry, and the cashier added them to our registry before ringing everything up so that we'd get the discount on everything.

But you don't have to buy EVERYTHING on your registry in order to get the discount, do you?? That's what had me confused... the word "completion"

I know you can take LNT coupons to BB&B and vise versa. It is nice out here. There are both VERY close by and they are always in competition with eachother. Good for the customers! I didnt know about the discount on registry things!

Nope, you don't have to buy everything. Just whatever you want to (heck, sometimes there are things you registered for that are no longer available). It's only called completion because it is giving you a chance to complete your registry, not because you have to.

We have a LNT, but I think there are more BB&Bs (there are at least 3 in reasonable driving distance to me, but only one LNT that I know of). I don't know if they take coupons from each other. The last time I was in LNT I was buying stuff for my college dorm room!
