Good Morning from Australia,
Can you please tell me what dance style would be appropriate for "Someone Like You" by Van Morrison - it can be found on the Poetic Champions Compose album.
Thanks, your web contributions have been incredibly helpful.

Good Day Kristy,

First let me acknowledge and thank you for your kind words. Many people never even acknowledge when a response is sent but you've taken the time to do so prior to the fact. Again thank you it is appreciated!

Now to business: "Someone Like You," by Van Morrison is a slow rhythm ballad. It is very dancable at 18 bars per minute.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for that, I've often found that requests for info from outside the USA are ignored, which is unfortunate because some of the most informative websites are from the USA.

I've just one more query for you - the song "The Way You Look Tonight" often sung by Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett......as it appears on the Father of the Bride Soundtrack it seems to be a little faster (I don't know the artist sorry). Can you tell me what the dance style would be to this song as it does seem a little faster than the traditional versions of the song.
Many thanks again for your assistance - I've already told a couple of engaged friends of your website and they are rapt!!
Cheers from Oz, Kristy

G'd Day Kristy,

Thank you for you kind words. I'm glad you like my site and this Forum here at Bliss! I ship many books & videos to Australia so I would be very remiss in not trying to give something back, plus I have two good friends that live there!

Steve Tyrell is the artist on the "Father of the Bride Soundtrack" and the dance type still remains a Foxtrot as it is in Sinatra's version. As a matter of fact one of my student's used Tyrell's version for their wedding dance. I liked it so I applauded their choice. Now Tony Bennett's version is a Slow Rhythm Ballad (not a Foxtrot)and therfore danceable as a "Slow Dance."

Thanks for the plug and the props - call again!

Kind Regards,

Jeff Allen
