Default Wedding Party Introduction Song Ideas

This is a thread that was started in our old BlissWeddings.com forums by feb-bride on 9/04/01.

I don't know if this is exactly your area of expertise, but I am having a hard time coming up with a song to use for the bridal party introductions. I'm not looking for a song for them to dance to; rather, I'm looking for a song to have playing as the DJ announces them at the beginning of the reception.

Every wedding I've ever attended has had the song "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang as the introduction song, and I think it's been "played out" a bit. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

WOW - You have LOTS of ideas! I just know I'll find something on that list. I really like the song "Love Shack" by the B-52's, but I never thought of it in terms of a wedding party introduction. Everyone who knows me would know that that song "fits me" to a T!

My cousin used the song "These Are the Days" by Ten Thousand Maniacs. I don't know if it really suits your taste but I thought it sounded awesome. Its is both upbeat (fast-paced) and beautiful.

here are the lyrics:

These are days to remember, never before and never since,
I promise, will the whole world be warm as this. And as you feel
it, you'll know it's true that you are blessed and lucky. It's
true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom
in you.
These are the days you'll remember. When May is rushing over
you with desire to be part of the miracles you see in every hour.
You'll know it's true that you are blessed and lucky. It's true
that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in
you.
These are days.
These are the days you might fill with laughter until you
break. These days you might feel a shaft of light make its way
across your face. And when you do you'll know how it was meant to
be. See the signs and know their meaning. It's true, you'll know
how it was meant to be. Hear the signs and know they're speaking
to you, to you.
