Tips On Gifts For StepParents
Hello all~
I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this! I have a strange situation in which I'm having my real dad & former step-dad walk me down the isle. My mom & former step-dad split up and she remarried but most of this took place after I had left home. So, I feel my former step-dad helped raise me and that's how I came to the decision of including him on giving me away. My problem is, I feel like I'm leaving my current step-dad out and I want to get him "something" or show him that I appreciate him also. I don't want to get him pictures of me & the fiance and he's not really into that kind of stuff but I do want to show him in some way that I do appreciate all he's done to help with my wedding and be a part of my life...thanks to him, I now have two awesome little brothers! LOL The thing is, we definately did not get along for several years because I saw him as the "REASON" for the divorce between my mom & former step-dad and he saw me as the "PROBLEM"!!! LOL I have since grown up and realized that he makes my mother very happy and so I would like to surpise him with something...any tips at all???? I know it's complicating and strange, but I just really feel I need to do this! Thanks so much in advance for your comments

First off, welcome!
Now, you say pictures aren't his thing. Well, what is his thing? Does he play any sports, have any hobbies, major interests or collections?

Look for Cabela's online and see if your mom could help you pick something out. They have a lot of cool hunting stuff. We shop there for FFIL all the time. That or any sporting store. Good luck!

If he's into hunting, why not give him a gift card to Cabella's or whatever store near you sells that type of gear. Then write him a nice card explaining why you appreciate him.
WOW- I must have been writing that at the same time as you lilbit!

You could also include him in your "Father/ Daughter Dance" by taking a turn and dancing with all three of them. If you would be comfortable with that.

Well, if "I" felt comfortable dancing, that would be a great idea!!! LOL But I'm still working on talking myself into dancing!

Thank you all so much for helping...I don't know why I never thought of the hunting thing, but it's PERFECT!!! He would totally love that...I guess my mind is just too scattered to figure these things out on my own!
