Gift Basket Theme!
Ok, so I'm attending my friend Nicole's shower on March 31st (Yeah this is the one I'm a bridesmaid for). Her FMIL is hosting, and has chosen a "gift basket" theme. She suggests each guest bring a diffferent themed basket (ex. Baking basket, sewing basket, spa day basket, basket for fh) I don't know if this is a surprise, or if Nicole already knows about it.
I can't afford anything pre-made, those things are %$**(&^ expensive! I was thinking at first a wedding night basket with all kinds of "goodies" I'm second guessing myself now because I don't wanna embarrass her.
Any ideas? (Inexpensive Ideas? LMAO)

If it were me...I would buy one of those microwave tubs of popcorn (the basket) and put two cans of soda, some boxed candy and a DVD....it's a movie basket!!!! And you can probably do it all for $25-30.....

Here are some ideas for specialty baskets that you can put together for $40 or less:
- Wine-and-cheese basket - bottle of wine, a couple of wine glasses, some boxes of high-end crackers, and some spreadable cheeses
- Romance basket - candles, candle holders, massage oils/lotions, chocolates
- Gardening basket - small shovel, small rake/hoe, small bag of soil, a couple of small gardening pots, flower seeds

I've done one of these before; it was a hit. Instead of a microwave tub, though, I bought an inexpensive plastic bowl and put in microwave packs of popcorn. If you want to be even more creative, you can decorate the popcorn with paint. I've seen them with the family's last name on them. Really cute!

Or how about a Picnic basket? That's what we are getting my friend for her shower. Big Lots usually has the actual baskets pretty cheap, and you can fill it with a blanket, bottle of wine, plastic plates/glasses/utensils, gift cards to specialty food shops, etc.
But that also depend on if they are the type to picnic.. if not, then it would just take up space...

go to Big Lots if you want to buy a basket basket. But then hit up the $1 store and go from there. While I was at big lots getting Jake's daughter's easter stuff they had that celophane wrap that you can use to wrap the basket for $1 a roll.

I would think you could do a wedding night basket that wouldn't embarass her too much.
You can make your own massage oil with canola or olive oil and add a scent or even vanilla extract. The massagers are really inexpensive. Can usually find at the $ store.
You could include choc. syrup too and make up some gift voucher coupon books. You could include or make up a question relationship book too. (we have 365 questions for couples)
A bottle of wine and chocolates would be a fun add in as would crackers, a sausage log and cheese snacky stuff so they don't have to leave the bed
Or cook book and the dry ingrediance for a fun meal (think "breakfast in bed")
You could also do a travel basket and include small travel size items, a book on day trips for the area, sunscreen, disposable camera ect...
I'm sure whatever you do will be great!!!

I love giving and getting baskets full of goodies!
A friend one time made a really cute gift basket out of a fishing tackle box for a man.
I have bought a shower caddy and filled with shower items, including shower gel's, scrubs, bath sponges, loofahs, lotion and body spray, etc...
I have also made a romantic gift basket before where I put in 2 plastic wine glasses, some trail mix and other munchies and themed it on sunflowers.
How about also doing a twist on the theme and make her a bath towel wedding cake. I did this for my Matron of Honor when she married. I have also done one with diapers for a baby shower. (if ya want to know more specifics let me know).

I think a Honeymoon Basket would be great...if you're worried about embarrassing her, you could also go the practical honeymoon route and include disposable cameras, sunscreen, a photo album (for the pics afterward), a couple of travel candles and then just make a few choice naughty things part of a bigger basket...

Wonderful job.
Many people do the ones that eventually end up blended into the kitchen or where ever and people forget what came from where ...blah, blah, blah.
The one you did will give them a special time to sit and relax away from all the other BS.
