Default RSVPs

Already married folks:

Do you happen to remember when the bulk of your RSVPs came in? Did you have a lot of folks send them in last minute?

We've had about a quarter of people send them back (if that) and the response date is by next week. (Although the caterer doesn't need to know the numbers until April 6th, I wanted to make sure I had time to get a hold of people who didn't respond). I've especially had a lot of trouble with younger people, mostly friends from college.

I was just wondering if I should expect a whole bunch to come in around the due date. I'm starting to worry

Most people wait till the RSVP date to mail them out! I know I got most of ours with in a few days of the date that had to be in.

I hear ya! Three weeks ago, saying you're looking for plane tickets, does NOT count as an RSVP! Are you coming or not???

Yeah our friends were useless too - I had to call them all and ask if they were coming, they were like 'Oh we have to respond' - urgh duh, thats what RSVP stands for!

We found that people either RSVP'd as soon as they got the invite or the day of or a few days after the RSVP date!

I think ours came in two waves - we got a bunch back right away, another bunch the last few days before the due date (and a couple of days after), and a small trickle in between.

Ours too.

Although DH's family wasn't great about RSVP'ing at all.......so we didn't get many of theirs.

I think the majority of ours came in right before/on the due date. I still had to call about 15 people to get answers though. I didn't mind calling people, but I was ticked at the amount of postage that got wasted.

I got a bulk of them right after I sent them, then another bulk came in right around the RSVP date. I think we still had to call about 4 or 5 people that didn't RSVP, though.

We had a bunch of responses right away, and then sort of a slow trickle after that. I found that for the most part, the yesses responded immediately, and the people who were either undecided or who weren't going to come weren't overly concerned about sending the RSVP's back. Definitely made for some tense moments since my mom told me I couldn't call people to check in. All in all, it ended up fine-I think between people who RSVP'ed yes and couldn't make it at the last minute, and those who forgot or did so well after the due date, we still ended up with about 250, which was about what we expected. Hope that helps!

We had several that never did RSVP, but we knew they were coming. But 60? How many invites did you send out? Are some of them a distance away? You might just count them as not coming, I mean if they don't know by now, they ain't gonna know then, IMHO. I think people are rude for not sending them back either way, but only a handful of our No's even sent their prepaid card back to us responding with a sorry, we can't make it. RUDE! BTW, those that didn't send the RSVP back and I didn't already know was coming, I didn't call. If they are close you could, but that can be a lot to do, a mean a handful, is doable, but you will be calling day and night between now and April 6th!

Chin up girl, it's almost over now, and in less than 20 days you will be a Mrs!

It's out of about 160 and most of them are college friends who live within a couple of hours drive. There are a few who had mentioned they were coming but weren't sure. I'm just really frustrated (and disappointed!)
