Default Bouquets.

Here is my idea on flowers. I want to use all silk bouquets for the BM and FG. I am also trying to find silk boutts. I want one real bouquet for me to carry at the wedding and then a silk one to keep. Matts idea is to have everything real. What do yall think.

Also does anyone know of a place i could find silk bouquets and bouts for a halfway reasonable price?

Well, depending on what you want....I know Hobby Lobby has premade bout. (I have no idea how to spell that) and boquets. Real ones would be more expensive, but silk ones don't die. I'm not knocking real flowers, but they die, and then what do you have to show for your money? They would smell nice tho.
If you know anyone that is crafty, it's not too hard to make them yourself, just need an eye for design. Other than that....if you're located near me I can have my BM (she took floral design in college) that's making mine make yours too. Lol.

I haven't used the site yet, so I'm recommending with reservation, but...save-on-crafts.com has very good prices on silk flowers. IDK what the quality is like, I haven't ordered anything to check yet.

I'm pretty sure Jennifer is using artificial flowers, and her's looked stunning in her bridal portrait! I'm having real ones but it's not very hot over here so they'll last a wee while + you can't really buy decent artificial ones over here + I don't really want to keep my flowers, what would you do with them? Wouldn't they just sit about gathering dust?

When you use silk flowers, most florists have higher quality silks than the local craftstores...it depends on how realistic you want your silks to look and the price you want to pay for them. I find that Ebay has too many items that are from craftstores...I recommend you searching online for silk wedding bouquets in your area and see what you find...if the reason you want silk is because it lasts forever vs. fresh flowers are just for a week...then why not pay a little bit more and find something you really like...

Well the ones I found look really nice and are inexpensive, plus I am on a strict budget due to mother problems. So I can't do expensive now or I would.

DG, I was on a budget too. All the boutineers (sp) were silk roses which my mom and I made. The flower girls and BM's all carried silk, and the headdresses they all wore were silk. Also all my corsages were silk (we had several to give to family and people helping out etc....). I was the silk queen. our altar flowers were a mixture of real and silk and you can see how the turned out. People that helped commented on how you couldn't tell they were real. As for smelling great I used a lot of herbs in our wedding (went out the day before to the herb garden and "snip snip"....). Anyway the herbs really made a wonderful scent. I still have my bouquet, I tried doing fresh myself (I looked at a florist and what I wanted was 100's of dollars) and they just didn't work out....... I bought ours mostly at Michaels. Taking advantage of their coupons. BTW HEADS UP, Micheal's told me That they will honor a Joann's coupon. I had to ask, but they said they would.

How much did you end up spending for all of your flowers? If you don't mind me asking you. I found a site taht I can get them all for around 120 and they have free shipping. They look good on the site but I am very leary on whether or not to order them. http://www.budget-bride.com/1625.htm
That is the site I have been looking at and it should bring up the correct flowers too.

Hmmm the bout's don't seem to bad. Thing is I bought on sale and used coupons when not on sale. I would say I most likely spent about that much total, maybe more. Because it was bought over a period of a few months I didn't keep close track. Also I found a floral place that had really good deals. if I had been living closer to Seattle I would have just went to Pikes Place Market and bought real from cheap, but...... For example the bouts maybe cost about $1.50 each, a white rose, the tape, the wire, a leaf or two and babies breath and ribbon. We made about 10-15. More than we needed. Mom said a lot of people needed them that didn't even wear them, but...... I would say you should look there, and also buy a few supplies at the craft store make a couple up and see what you think. Factor in time too.

ETA: Meaning buy enough stuff at a craft place to try making a couple of the things you want and see about cost and time factors. :-)

Can they send a catalog? Maybe a sample?

They can send a sample, it is $8 i think. it is for the single rose. I may even be able to lower the amount down by cutting down on the flowers. HMMMM

It's worth the price for a sample. I would get it. Hey figure it this way, if you went out to eat lunch you spend almost taht much at a fast food place. Right? Keep me posted.

I'm sending you a white rose (silk) flower girl's bouquet. If you like it, you can bring that to a florist or even to a home decorating store like Davids or something, and have them reproduce it. I think you'll like it. If you don't, you can always use it for ideas, etc.
