I think that is what I am going to do. I will have to do it next week when i have a day off or have matt do it tomorrow after all he does work for the county which is part of the state, so he should be able to find out right.

Have you tried looking in the phone book? People might be listed there, and have you tried non-denominational ministers that are more like JOPs? I would say the phone book might be a good place to look too, for people who aren't associated with the state/county.

we are too small of an area to have it in the phone book and plus we are in what is considered to be the "Bible Belt of America". So people don't normally use JOP around here and I was from a non denominational church and he refuded to do it cu we lived together. grrr. So frustrating.

I was just trying to think of different religions. Church of Gods and methodist Church's around here don't have that many rules on marriage. Baptist is the hardiest. I've been going to the same church since i was born. Mom was in this church when she went in labor with me. They won't let us be married in the church since he has been married b-4 and since I once lived with a man. But the minster wants to be at the wedding. Don't make since to me. Since all this come up I haven't been back and thats the reason why and there won't be a invite sent to the church. That might be wrong of me. I know two wrongs don't make a right but come on people make mistakes...

You could also look up Notary Publics in your yellowpages and see which ones offer marriage. Like, I have the ability to marry a couple legally, but I don't. I don't know why I don't either.. But anyway, try that too.

In my area the office where you get your marriage license has a list of judges (jop) who like to perform weddings. Not all judges will do them. If you don't have a listing in your phone book, call the office where you will get the marriage license and ask for names or call your county recorder's office (most judges are county or state, not city). It costs more to get a judge to come to you during his or her off hours, but it is fairly easy to get one.
