Hello!
Since it sounds like you are going to want something that feels very light and sheer, yet lasts all day, I would go with a creme-to-powder foundation. Why? Well, they normally go on creamy which allows you to smooth it out and even sheer it down where it doesn't look/feel heavy. Then as an added bonus, it dries to a powder-like finish so it doesn't feel goopy.
What you should want to do first is use some sort of a primer to fill in all the lines and pores in our skin, which will allow the foundation to go on smoother, thus using less overall. Some great primers are:
*Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (
www.smashbox.com )
*English Ideas Complexion Primer (
www.sephora.com )
Then, apply a thin layer of creme-to-powder foundation (it's so much easier to apply a little bit more foundation if you want slightly more coverage then to realize you applied too much and try to take some off) and allow to "set" for about 30 seconds to a minute before setting it with a little bit of translucent powder. What's also amazing about these foundations is that you can use them as concealer, so you don't need a separate product! Some of my favorite creme-to-powder foundations are:
*Benefit Playsticks (
www.benefitcosmetics.com )
*Smashbox Conversion Creme Foundation (
www.smashbox.com )
If you have a colorless loose powder to set your makeup (Kett makes a FAB one! (
www.kettcosmetics.com ) and that's all you need as a basis for "Picture Perfect" skin!
As for lasting lipstick, you can use ANY lipstick you like, and apply a sealer like Benefit's She-Laq (
www.benefitcosmetics.com ) or Tarte cosmetics Seal the Deal (
www.tartecosmetics.com ). This will create a thin layer of protection, and unless you eat something with oil (salad dressing!) you won't need to touch it up! Although as a rule of thumb, I would keep my lipstick with me to touch up with after the meal at the reception has been eaten!
I hope this helps! Good luck with your cosmetics search
