Music
I want to see a song to my groom at the reception. I need some ideas on what songs to sing. And, can the DJ provide the music for me, since I will not be having a band?

I have no ideas at the moment, but as far as the DJ, you should check in advance. He may or may not be able to get the instrumentals only to a given song. He would very likely be able to get the song with the lyrics, and might have equipment advanced enough to lower only the voice track, but you'd have to ask to be certain. You may have to provide your own CD of the music.

What a great way to honor your groom and entertain your guests at the same time!
Your choice of songs is a very personal one. I'll leave that to you but it may be best to look through your favorite CDs or music downloads to find one with the message that you want to convey.
You want to make sure the song is in your vocal "range". For example, I find Sinatra or Elvis songs fit my voice better than say, Sting or Rod Stewart. You may have to try a few songs to see what you're best at.
Many instrumental or karaoke versions of songs are available at your local music store, Amazon.com and on iTunes, so your DJ should be able to play it on his equipment. If you're not used to performing in public, give it a run through using the DJ's system and mic prior to your "performance" if you can. This will build your confidence and circumvent any potential problems.
I applaud your decision to try this unique and original idea. The few times I have had a client do this it has been one of the highlights of the day!
If anyone has ideas or actual experience singing at their own wedding, please feel free to chime in here.

Yes! I have an a lot of experience performing. But, I still want to run through it with the DJ. I am thinking the song AT Last by Etta James would be a fun and meaningful song, so I am looking into that and one other one. I'm excited.

That's such a great song - so romantic and beautiful! FH and I actually considered having it as our first dance.
