Default Wedding Day Perfume

What did you all do about perfume for your wedding day? Did you wear your normal scent? Did you buy something new? Did you really not care?

I've been trying to find one that'll suit me & make me think of my wedding when I wear it again... I do that normally, I associate perfume with certain times... If I wear the one I wore on holiday when he proposed I get all the iomages in my head from then & I know that'll happen with whatever scent I chose for the wedding.

I just bought Stella by Stella McCartney & I'm loving it at the moment. It's quite a classic scent in someways, heavy rose absolute & tuber rose... I want something strong enough for others to smell it from me but not *too* overpowering... I'd like something that isn't too green...
The other possibility at the moment is Lovely by SJP... I haven't bought it yet but I'm hoping to get it with gift vouches from Christmas!

Anyway what did you do/are you doing about wedding perfum? Did you stick to your normal scent or get something new? What did you wear? Did you buy a matching aftershave for you FH/DH?

A few years ago, I got a raspberry-scented body glitter gel for Christmas, and I only use it for special ocasions (and I think my wedding counts as a special occasion!). I had also just started using a raspberry-scented deodorant as well, so I simply made raspberry my signature wedding scent. My goal was to make DH and myself remember our wedding day every time we smell raspberries.

Prior to the wedding, I had a regular perfume, Curve, by Liz Claiborne. But, I only ever wore it on special occasions. Now, since I wore it for the wedding, I wear it almost every day. I guess it's my way of keeping my wedding day "current".

I hadn't thought of that either. I never wear perfume. Everything is too strong for me. Besides I grew up with a dad who would start sneezing if I sprayed perfume in my room with the door closed while he was in the living room. I just figured I'd equate the smell of my flowers with my wedding day. Everytime there after when I received roses, I'd remember our wedding day.

Not married yet, but I won't be purchasing a wedding scent. I'll wear what I have already, since it's probably my favorite.

Default I considered a "special" scent, but...

I wear the same scent all the time (White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor). I seriously considered wearing something different just for the wedding day, but it took me a long time to find a scent that I really liked and that smelled good on my body, so I decided to go with what I always wear. This way, I knew that I'd smell good. There are some perfumes that smell good on some people but horrible on others, and I was afraid of choosing a scent that smelled horrible on me.

I wear Bath and Body Works Cotton Blossom Purely Silk or CK Sheer Obsession on a daily basis. I will sometimes were the regular CK Obsession if we are going out at night. I wore the Cotton Blossom for the wedding. I also occasionally wear the Coconut Lime Verbena from B&BW, but generally only in warm weather.

I'll probably just wear whatever perfume floats my boat at the time....I like the Bath and Body works Tutti Dolci line...it makes me smell like dessert. It'll probably be that line in Sugar Wafer.

I just wanted to share something for those of you who may be thinking about wearing a different scent for your wedding day. DH and I were doing some shopping and stopped into B&BW. I found a new scent that I liked, asked DH to smell it and he said "Ooh, that's nice!" Then I asked him to smell this 'other' one (it's the one I already wear) and tell me which one he liked better. He picked the one I already wear, and I asked him why he he liked that one better, and he said "This one smells like you." Just something to consider! Men have that 'scent memory' thing too.

We have a locally owned apothocary and you can have scents specially made...so I was thinking about having a scent made and then having notes from that primary scent made for a special thing for my attendants...but I'm pretty picky...so we'll see how it goes.

That's really neat, ladedah! I wish there was something like that around here. How would you find someplace like that?

Oh lord- like MTGH said- another thing to think about!!!!

I think I shall wear my signature scent "Chanel 19" which my FH loves. I like to get the body lotion and stuff too for Xmas so I'll probably layer the scent so it stays on longer but doesn't overwhelm.

I hate when people marinate themselves in cologne etc....Less is More!!!

I am SO embarrased by this but: I wore Curious by Britney Spears to my wedding. I don't like her but I love her perfumes. I never tell anyone though. When they ask me what I am wearing, I say "I can't remember"

Her new perfume (Fantasy) is on my Christmas list.

I also have some crap from Victoria's Secret but everytime I wear it, I get a massive headache and it was $38.00.

Red face

I wore what I always wear: Fire & Ice. It's the only perfume that smells nice on me.

It's so great to see all the views on this! I've been working for the last couple days & not had any time to stop by... was stunned by all the responses!

I would normally stick to my favourite, but it was discontinued a couple of years ago & I've never really found a perfect one to replace it All summer I wore 'Sensi White Notes' by Armani; I totally love it! But it's a really light scent, very summery and it doesn't come in 'parfum' just 'eau fraiche' which won't last long enough on my skin for the wedding... so the search goes on!

(BTW if any of you know differently about the white notes please speak up! I'd love the parfum of that)

Whiddle: I love the bottle that Curious comes in! I've not tried it yet but I think it'd be worth the price just to have it on display (BTW I'm a closet Britney fan but if you tell anyone I'll deny it )

They have the curious at Wal-Mart for much cheaper than the department store price. I think I paid $13.83.

I normally switch between Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea or Mary Kay's Volicity. Matt like All My Childrens "Fusion". So I may it. I don't know yet. I guess which ever bottle I grab that morning.

Exclamation I Knew It!!!!

I KNEW I wasn't the only Britney fan. You all need to come out of the closet, lol. (She has awesome dance songs, and that's all it takes for me. lol)I like her Curious purfume, but haven't bought any yet. Still trying to get through my Fire & Ice. I normally don't wear any purfume at all, unless I'm going out at night. So FH doesn't associate any smell with me that I'm aware of. (We don't get dressed up often, and I go out on Fridays while he's still working, so he doesn't smell me until I get home from the bar and nobody smells good then. )

As for the wedding, I dunno if I'll wear any or not since I'll be outside. I might take some to spritz on before the reception tho, and it will probably be Fire & Ice, b/c it's not real strong but you can smell it.

My normal scent is Este Lauder's Beautiful. For Christmas, since I still have a lot of Beautiful Bob got me Este Lauder Incognito (SP) I think it's called. When I wear it (It a bit lighter of a scent) people don't comment and Bob doesn't either but if I am wearing Beautiful everyone comments and my DH husband will snuggle up to me and say, "ummmm you smell nice." I think over the years people have just associated me with that scent, though for my wedding I picked something I thought was light and flowery. It was alright but not the me scent I say stick with something that is you.

Fh gave me Provocative Women for Christmas. I love it! He gave me a large bottle for me to use now and a small bottle that was in a wedding bag. He said he thought I would like to wear it for the wedding. But I still like sexy from Victory Seceret...
