Default First the Thriller Wedding Dance ... now the Dirty Wedding Dance - Cute!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYhlm9GTAQ0

Wedding is time of their lives for Dirty Dancers

By Carlene Thomas-Bailey

James and Julia on their special dayMOVE over Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, because a couple from Wimbledon have shown they have the moves to rival Hollywood's favourite Dirty Dancers.

After re-enacting the famous final dance scene from the film on their wedding day 18 months ago, Julia Boggio and her husband James Derbyshire decided to put their film on to the popular website YouTube for friends and family to view in America.

But more than 50,000 internet users logged on to see the wedding prancers and now the footage is ranked in the global top 50 most viewed and has made it into the top 100 most discussed submissions.

Mr Derbyshire, who married his sweetheart at Fonmon Castle, Wales, said: "I had no idea it would be so popular, we are approaching our second wedding anniversary but only put the video on YouTube last week. The number of hits to the website have escalated daily. It's unbelievable."

He said that comments about the video were quite negative at the start, because many people felt that the couple should not have tried to recreate the classic moment while other called James gay. But most viewers have now come round and are leaving more friendly messages on the site.

"Dancing is not my forte so I went over to my friends house before and after work to practice and get everything right.”

For Julia it was important to have the Dirty Dancing moment because the romantic classic is her favourite film.

It took a while to get the moves perfect and the couple, who got engaged at Tiffany's in New York, practiced for four to six months to ensure that the dance and lift were executed perfectly.

Mr Derbyshire said: "Dancing is not my forte so I went over to my friends house before and after work to practice and get everything right."

And it seems the practice paid off .

Ms Boggio added: "I'm glad that the video has become so popular, especially since 18 months after getting married it has given me a chance to watch my wedding video again and relive that happy day."

Maybe I'm just being negative today, but I didn't think it was so cute. I appreciate the work they put into learning it, but kinda a let down after the movie. I'll shut up now.

That's awesome! I really think that's cute. I love the way they got the wedding party (I assume it's the wedding party) involved in the part that original had Swayze dancing with the other staff members, and worked out a way to do the lift since the bride didn't have enough room to run so that they could do the lift themselves. And they were clearly having an absolute blast. Too cute! What a great memory that must be--for all the guests as well as the couple!

So I won't get tarred and feathered for voicing my opinion? lol It's all good. I'm tired today so maybe that's why I'm negative . . . who knows. Everyone has a right to their opinion and as long as I don't hurt anyone I'll voice it. Yup, I try to live by my siggie.....I'll be honest and not everyone will like it, but I'd rather have someone be honest with me instead of lieing. Oh well....I'm babbling......off to another thread I go.......*zoommmmmmm*****

When I first saw it I thought it was cool (and I was wondering about the lift, since Baby had trouble doing it in the movie).

After reading the article, however, I think the bride was being rather high-maintenance here. She HAD to have HER moment - how did the groom ever agree to that? Is a perfectly executed performance more important than just celebrating with their loved ones?

And how many videographers did she have anyway? You can tell by shots from different angles. She really loves the attention on her day, doesn't she?

Aww, I thought it was cute. They looked like they were all having so much fun! I hope my reception has that many people dancing.
