I'm no longer a Marine wife...
CLIFF'S ON TERMINAL LEAVE! Ok, well he's actually stuck waiting on a Warrant Officer to sign his final paperwork, but apparently every Warrant Officer at Lejeune is on leave until noon today-which seems weird to me, but whatever. He was supposed to be able to head out at 8am, but with no Warrant Officer, no road trip. He's just cooling his jets until he gets that last signature.
But we're done! I don't think either one of us really knows what to think about it. It's kind of strange to be honest, but we're both so excited about the next few months. I graduate in May, and he's going to get his real estate license and go back to grad school to get his Master's in the fall. We have so much to look forward to-buying a house, moving to our new city-but most importantly, we're excited about living in the same TIME ZONE for once! WE MADE IT!
(So did I freak you out with the thread title?? )

Ann-He definitely is, but I don't think it's sunk in yet that he doesn't ever have to go back. We're both definitely a little nervous about what's coming up-I mean, the military didn't provide a whole lot in certainty, but knowing that paycheck wise, insurance wise, and jobwise that everything was in place, you know? It's a little weird I guess. I mean, being a Marine has been so defining for Cliff, and now he's not (although they always say once a Marine, always a Marine, but you know, not the same thing). I think there will probably be some rough patches-we're still working on some of the milder effects of his all-expense paid trip to Iraq-but overall, we're relieved. And definitely excited!

How has he taken to his breaks before? I don't know if they ever get away for long, but I'm just thinking if he didn't go stir crazy being back home without a 24/7 job to do then he might settle back in fine...
It's got to be a huge adjustment though, being a Marine is such a defining role! I'm not even in the US & I know what it is to be a marine! lol. That says enough probably
But you know what, he's got the best part of his life to look forward to now, and he'll be home safe knowing he gets to live it!
Congratulations! It'll be a huge adventure
