Default how?

are you supposed to dance when you do hand in hand? Are there like directions or anything?!!lol! I have not danced or been to anything that has dancing in like 4 years! I am just so nervous about dancing with my dad(seems it will be awkward!) not so much nervous about dancing with FH but i think i am going to put my hands over his shoulders. ANY advice for my stupid fears?

If I'm reading your post right, you're asking about the proper dancing position where his left hand is on the middle of yoru back, and your left is on his shoulder, the two rights holding together...

I took a ballroom dance class, and to be honest, I tried to teach my fiance. He can't grasp it, so the easiest dance to try would be a waltz. It's a basic box step, which means you step back with right, put your left foot out to the side, feet together, then step forward with the left, out with right, and then feet together. It's hard to explain in type, but give it a try. You're basically stepping in a big square. It's really easy to adapt to songs. Maybe give that a try..?

I hope I got your question right!

since my wedding is not super fancy and is on a farm, do you think the most appropriate dancing would be over the shoulder? But i should do hand in hand with my dad right?

With your Dad I would think you would dance a little more formal. With your left hand on his shoulder and right hand in his hand. But with Evan I think your hands on his shoulder and his on your waist.

Thats what I was going to suggest.

Some couples even hold hands like you would with your dad but with the guy having his hand and your hand on his chest, it looks so romantic cuz your hands end up on his heart

aw yeah i've seen people do that. I think i am going to be soooooooooo nervous, i hate being center of attention! But hopefully the moment will just flow. I've heard that the first dance is the best part.

A lot of community centers have dance nights a couple times a month that are free or really cheap. You could always check one of those out or look for some other place that does that type of thing to get more comfortable with dance positions and steps.
