Ok, so here's my story (the Reader's Digest version.)
I'm 26 and live in Texas, on the north side of Houston, but I'm a small-town girl at heart. Actually, I would love to live on a beach in the caribbean but haven't managed to win the lottery just yet and make that dream happen. lol.
I work for an HR outsourcing company on the post payroll team for a Fortune 500 company. The hours have been pretty excruciating since I started back in August, but they have finally calmed down to about 40 hours per week (down from 70.) I love what I do and the people I work with, so it's all worth it.
Technically, my post shouldn't be in the "Bridal Journals" since I am a single gal, but that's where everyone else's is, so.... I was in a serious relationship when I began posting regularly on bliss. My SO and I were having trouble and even sought therapy, but in the end we were just different people. I've been single since the end of September, and my *online sisters* here have been really great about it all. I'm enjoying my time to myself and really working on who I am as a person. I've realized that ack! I'm kinda codependent!

I love to do things for those I care about and tend to go a little overboard with that in the beginning of a relationship. Problem is, I find guys who need mothering and someone to take care of them. Then the nice things I was doing for them in the beginning turns into what I have to do because they can't take care of it on their own, and I become resentful that they aren't adult enough to do it themselves. Geez! The good news is I've finally realized this about myself and will now set boundaries that I'm comfortable with so that I don't feel that I'm being taken advantage of. I could go on and on here, but I promised this would be the Reader's Digest version.
Anyway, now that work has slowed down and this semester is over (currently taking the basic courses to get an Associate's degree, but my eventual goal is a BBA) I am going to focus on my personal growth (with lots of help from MTGH - thanks Jen!) and spending time with my friends.
I've enjoyed reading your stories and getting to know you even better through them. This site rocks!
