We're thinking of honeymooning in Vegas. There are many shows that we'd like to go see and other events. We're not gamblers, so it's kind of weird thinking of going to Vegas (neither of us has ever been). Just wondering if anyone has done this and what you did and how it went! Thanks

My husband and I did. We loved it.
We didn't do the shows because my husband isn't into that stuff, but I hear that the Blue Man Group is a great show to check out.
At the Circus Circus in Las Vegas, they have an indoor amusement park if you're into that sort of thing. They also have a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel (I highly recommend it if you like roller coasters).
We stayed at the Venetian. It was wonderful. I've also heard that good places to stay include the Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. They are "resort-style."
If you'd like to stay somewhere nice, but not on the Strip, I recommend The Palms Hotel and Casino. It's a few blocks off the strip. The owners also own the Sacramento Kings (NBA basketball team). It's THE hot spot where the locals go for gambling and clubbing. They have several restaurants, a couple of hot night clubs, a killer buffet, and a really nice day spa. My husband and I treated ourselves to massages while we were there. The rooms are nice. The beds are extremely comfortable.
If you go, be sure to hit Fremont Street at night. It's sort of cheesy, but it's fun. Try to visit the Mount Charleston area. You can take a picnic lunch and spread a blanket out. It's about a 30 to 45-minute drive from the heart of Las Vegas.

Vegas would be a great time, even if you don't gamble. Cirque de Soleil is there with a couple of different shows, I think. And there are plenty of comedians that perform every night. Basically what we've found is that even the shows that you've never heard of end up being good! We went one time with FH and my parents and all the good shows were sold out (so buy them early before you go) so we went to something I had never heard of and thought it sounded lame. But, it ended up being really really fun! So, try to see a few different shows. Oh Celine Dion is there too, if you like her. Barry Manilow interest you guys? He's there right now too! And yes, I hear Blue Man Group is very cool. They kinda freak me out though! But I've never seen their show. And wander down to Treasure Island one night. They put on a pirate show. It's kind of fun. I've stayed at a couple different hotels. The Hard Rock is a very popular hotel with the younger (35 and under) crowd. At least that's what I hear from all the people at work. I'm in LA, so people from here are going ALL THE TIME. I've stayed at Bally's and Flamingo and liked them both. Have fun!! It's such a fun city.

I just got back from vegas, we stayed at the Luxor. Their buffet (pharoah's pheast) was really good. We tried the buffet at Excaliber too (knights of the round table i think), i didnt like it.
We were gonna go to the blue man show, but ended up doing other stuff. One taxi driver told me that he didnt like it cuz of all the drums, but then again thats only one persons opinion. He said its fun for kids, may be a little too loud for the older crowd. (I was there w/my parents and my bro's fiance's mom).
Definitely walk around and check out the decor in all the hotels, especially ceasars palace where their shopping mall is. They have some beautiful statues and water fountains.
I hear mandalay bay has the best pool area.
Good luck

Blue Man Group is awesome!!! I saw them in NYC about 5-6 years ago, before they became well known. It was crazy and chaotic, but a total blast! I would definately recommend seeing them if you get the chance!

Don't eat at the Excaliber. The buffet is NASTY. It was so gross that my husband and I walked out and demanded a refund.
Other buffets to avoid - Harrah's. That was another nasty one. It used to be good.
If you like buffets, good ones include the buffet at Rio and at the Aladdin (at least they used to be good; it's been a few years since we've went there). Like I said, The Palms also has a really good buffet.
Definitely check out all the free "street" shows. Treasure Island has a neat pirate show. The water fountain show at the Bellagio is awesome; it plays every fifteen minutes. You can get a great view of the fountain show from the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel (there's a fee to go to the top, but the view is great). There's a volcano at one of the casinos that erupts every so often at night (I can't remember what hotel it's in front of).
There is a lot of neat stuff inside the casinos, too. Inside the Bellagio, there is a lot of artwork. Inside New York New York, it looks like you're actually in the streets of New York City. Inside the Venetian, it looks like you're strolling the streets of Venice, and there's a gondola ride if you are so inclined; they'll even take your picture on it for a fee. The gondoliers sing while you ride in the gondola. Inside Caesar's, there's a periodic statue "show" in the middle of the shopping area.
You're virtually guaranteed to have a good time because there's so much to do, even if you don't gamble. We actually didn't spend much time gambling.

Oh, the Sunday bruch at Bellagio is to die for! I believe champagne is even included, or mimosas if you prefer. You HAVE to to there!

Wow, this is great! This has given me so many things to look forward to! I made a list of all the places you gals said so we can be sure to plan to include them. I started looking at some general prices, and it's more expensive than I originally thought it would be, but hopefully we can work something out. How much did you gals spend while you were there? Some of the air fare + hotel deals that I looked at for 1 week were like $1500+ just for staying, so add in shows and meals and it seems like we'd want at least $2000 and probably more than that. Eek!

We spent under $1K, but we drove (12-hour drive), and we didn't go to the shows.

And I'm in LA, so it's just a 4-5 hour drive from here, or a $100 flight. I have really only gone for the weekend or a little more, so nothing very long. Keep looking. I'm sure you'll be able to find a hotel that suits your needs for a reasonable price. I said it before, but Bally's and Flamingo are both reasonably priced and I thought they were nice enough.

Harrah's and Imperial palace always has decent prices and the good thing is that theyre right in the middle of the strip.
Also, when you get there, they have a magazine that lists all the shows, restaurant and things to do and i found a few shows that were for free. There was a free variety show at the tropicana, i know stardust always has a hypnotist show, harrah's has a free comedy show. So there are plenty of ways to cut "show" costs. You just have to ask around when you get there.

If you're going for a honeymoon, I don't recommend staying at the Imperial Palace. My husband stayed there on a business trip, and he said it's not very nice. In fact, he checked himself out after the first night and moved to another hotel.
