Heart Wreath
Submitted by: LJEagle
Last February I was in a craft store and I saw these cute heart wreaths that would match my wedding perfect. However the cost of them did not fit my wedding. I needed 4 and they were 29.99 each. So I figured I could just make them and they would be the same. Well the final thing was 100% better then what I remembered the wreaths at the local craft store being.
Supplies:- 1 Foam Heart (found at your local craft store)
- 3 rolls of 2 inch ribbon
- 1 pack of floral picks with wire attached
- Small flat headed stick pins
- 20 to 24 steam less flowers
- Hot glue
Instructions:
Start with the foam heart and ribbon! Use 2 stick pins (one on each side of the ribbon) and on the inside of the point of the wreath attach the ribbon. Then wrap the wreath with over lapping the ribbon as little as possible. If you get to a point where you can't get the ribbon to cover the foam use your pins and then cover the pin up with the next wrap around. Pins should always be stuck on the inside. After you finish wrapping the wreath take each flower and attach a pick using the wire to wrap around the bottom of the flower. Insert the first flower in the very center of the point of the heart with a drop of hot glue on the bottom of the pick. Then use your judgment how close you attach each flower. (HINT) If you have trouble getting the picks through the ribbon take a different pick and hammer softly. Once it goes through the ribbon remove it and add the flower. After you have inserted all the flowers take a piece of the extra ribbon about 2 feet long and wrap around the center flower and foam and make a bow at the end of the ribbon where you want to hang it. I hung them on the front doors of the church.
