Ok, I will go get some today then. For some reason they didn't give my friend any when they registered.

We just finished our registries last weekend. It was a blast although Hubby wouldn't let me us the gun thing! I just wanted to scan one thing! Hahaha...
Anyways, we didn't get cards at target. They didn't just offer them. I had to go back and ask. I did end up getting some.

You may be able to print them online, too.

We just registered this week, and they gave us a tote bag with registry cards.

I've heard bad things about the return/exchange policy at Target? What exactly is it? We're narrowing down our search for stores.

I think they have a pretty leniant return policy for registered couples, but their regular return policy sucks. I tried to return something I got for Christmas, and they scanned my license once when I brought it to the counter, and then again when I came back with my exchange item. Well then when I tried to bring back my sister's gift, they said I couldn't because I had already returned 2 things, and the limit is 2 per year. I explained that the lady had just scanned my license twice, and I hadn't actually returned two different things, but they didn't care. My mom had to make a whole other trip to Target to return it (it's an hour's drive).

I have had problems with them returning things on my baby registry. This is why I did not register with them for the wedding. I used up my 2 for the year just exchanging a package of diapers for the next size up and some (unopened of course) shampoo that had scent in it, for the unscented one. They refused to let me return the rest of my diapers that DS had grown out of right away. I had to exchange them at Wal-mart. Most people do not give gift receipts for diapers and stuff as they don't think you will return them.
As long as you have a gift receipt and promise your first born they will do a return for you.

Target is not lenient with ANY returns, even if the returns are based on a gift registry. Even if you're registered with them, they require a gift receipt. That's why I didn't register with them when I got married. How can you go to a guest and ask for the gift receipt? So rude!

Thanks! That's good to know. Too bad they aren't better at the whole return thing... it's my favorite store!

I HATE TARGET! their gift registry that is...I still shop there...I may be a little late with this, but I can't help but vent. I registered there for our wedding and what a nightmare. Like some of you said...they don't return things. I wanted to return a salt and pepper shaker, and I argued with customer service for 30 minutes...one because I didn't have a receipt (ummmm...IT WAS A GIFT FROM A SHOWER...who asks for receipts? I thought that was what the registry was for.) And then when they returned it they said I could only get something from the same department, which consisted of more salt and pepper shakers. ( HELLO...IF I AM RETURNING A SALT AND PEPPER SHAKER...I DON'T WANT ANOTHER ....I had other problems after I used my two returns( they track your license) so I spent two hours on the phone climbing as high as I could through customer service...as did my mom..who is very vocal...well the end result was...I AM CANCELLING MY REGISTRY AND MY WEDDING IS IN THREE WEEKS! They could have cared less. I did enjoy telling the head guy I talked to that I would stop anyone I could from registering there...I have had 5 or so friends get married since...and non registered... May be nothing for big corporate target, but made me feel good.

I didn't think you were supposed to ever include gift registry cards in any invitations? Am I wrong? I know that when I was having showers and such, all information about registries was supposed to be word of mouth, and that cards of any sort were sort of considered, well, I mean, tacky. And I know that the south is a different breed, but, honestly, that's what I was told. So if I'm wrong, by all means, I apologize, but if I'm right, I just don't want anyone making a mistake!

I kind of agree. I did not put registry card in my invites for that reason. Word of mouth seemed to work just fine.
I ended up calling corporate Target as well to complain. Same with me- they did not care. I vowed to never shop there but I break that rules becasue I like the store.

It seems like every shower invite I receive have the registry cards in them! So it's not a southern thing....I never really buy actual gifts, I usually do gift cards or money.....this way if they change their mind they can just purchase what they want instead of having to exchange and get the headaches.

Shower invites are the only ones that are "allowed" to have registry info in them. At least that's what I've been reading and hearing recently.
And I'm SO not registering at Target! We were thinking maybe we'd register for stuff that would be okay if we got multiples (bath towels, sheets, etc) but that's totally not worth having a registry for that much! Thanks for the input! I'll definitely spread the word!
