For anyone considering a cruise for they honeymoon, I think it's a fabulous idea!
My husband and I took a transatlantic cruise for part of our honeymoon; it was 15 days from Barcelona, Spain to Galveston, Texas. We stopped in several ports, including the Caymans, the Canary Islands, Malaga, Spain, and Cozumel, Mexico. Our cruise was on Royal Caribbean, and I would definitely recommend them! The service was fantastic, as was the food.
As far as children on the ship, there were very few, apparently because of the longer cruise, which evidently attracts an older crowd. As has been said before, you might ask the cruise line directly about how many kids there are on a particular cruise.
Also, it was fun because people found out that we were honeymooners, and everyone congratulated us and all that, which was nice. In addition, cruises often have a special night where people on their honeymoon or having an anniversary can have cocktails with and meet the captain.
There was another couple who got married halfway through the cruise, on the Caymans, and they seemed very pleased with the way everything turned out. (The ship made a wedding cake for them, etc.)
As far as seasickness, my husband and I were fine. If you are worried about it, you can always get an inside cabin, in the lower part of the ship, which is the most stable. However, I would recommend an outside cabin with a balcony, if you can afford it. That's what we had, and it was so nice to be able to have breakfast on our balcony, and listen to the waves at night - very romantic! Several travel websites have great specials on these cabins - I'll look up the website names and try to post them here later on.
One other thing is, try to have at least one full day after the wedding to rest at a hotel before you leave for your honeymoon. We weren't able to do that, and we were sooo tired when we got to our destination the next day! It's good to have a rest after the excitement and stress of the wedding - you'll enjoy your honeymoon more!
Have fun everyone!

Yea!! How fun! I'm so excited for you. RC is a great cruise line, too! A couple of words of advice, though. Don't buy the little baskets that they offer you before the cruise (fruit basket, etc.) We did that b/c we thought it would be nice, but it's wasted money b/c they offer the same food all day, everyday, for free! The champagne package is worth it, though. (Two bottles for a decent price, if I remember. We had one of the bottles the day of departure, hanging out on our balcony. So fun!!) We also cheated a bit and brought a few bottles of our own wine and champagne, mostly b/c we had been in France and wanted to bring some home. They say you aren't allowed to, but no one searched our luggage anyway.
If you want a quiet dinner and your reserved dinner table is with a group, you can get your seating assignment changed and have a table for just the two of you. There is a specified time for doing this on the arrival day; you gather at the dining room and speak with the maitre d'. My husband and I did this; we wanted to have the time to ourselves, but it is also fun to be with a group. Just personal preference, I guess.
If you do go Royal Caribbean, definitely do the "Love and Marriage" game show!! (It's kind of like the "Newlyweds" game show that used to be on TV.) It was so much fun; my husband and I were the newlywed contestants on the show, and they even gave us a tape of the show to take home with us. Beware of the last question on the show, however. They apparently always ask the ladies "Where is the most unusual place you have ever 'made whoopie'?"

All three of us were so embarrassed, but I told the game show host that it was none of his business, and refused to answer the question.
Anyway, hope that's not too much info! Have a great time on your cruise!!

My fh and I went on a cruise last year. It was a Carnival cruise and for the most part we didn't feel the motion of the ship. We hit rough waters during the last couple of days but by that time, day 5, we were ready to be on land anyway. As far as getting sick from food I'll tell you that I and a few other people we spoke with had a bad reaction to the turkey sandwich but it wasn't bad enough to keep me from going on a cruise again.

I had an allergic reaction to the pineapple on the ship I was on. I think the fruit has more acid or something in it than our fruit here in the USA. But other than that, I had a good time. We couldn't feel the ship's movements either and got to see dolphins swimming by also.....

I have cruised seven or eight times on the east and west coasts. (Including my first honeymoon, 25 years ago!)
On every cruise, the food has been fabulous, and you can eat all day long. There are ranges of types of food from the elegant dinners in the dining room, to more casual food back in the poolside grills. The pineapple is fresh, which has a different tast than canned, plus fresh still has some of the digestive enzymes. The larger ships all have special "fins" which help stabilize the movement, and generally you don't even realize the boat is moving until you look out of the boat. There are a few rough area, such as when passing through the straits between Cuba and the lower Islands. Children are supposed to be in the direct control of their parents; Disney cruises have the largest number of children. The recent digestive illnesses found on the ships were spread by hand to mouth contact, so the shps have been totally sanitized. But keep those moist disinfectant towellettes anad wipd down your cabin door handles, etc. Its a wonderful way to travel, so enjoy!
