Hello and welcome to the forums. If you are planning to use live flowers, you won't find tulips in December. There are few purple flowers available, so you would need to use white ones with a touch of lavender or purple.

If you are planning to use silk flowers, then tulips would be fine, as would other purple flowers. Just be sure to choose flowers that actually grow in the colors of your choice. For instance, there are no purple roses, so to use silk purple roses would draw attention to the fact that they are not real.

Actually, if your heart is set on it, you can get tulips imported at just about anytime, but they'll cost an arm and a leg.

syringa, isn't there a lavender rose--i think it's a hybrid, and while that may make it more expensive, it IS still available.
deputy, some winter blooms are amaryllis, camellias (but apparently their stems don't hold up well, so it'd have to be like floating centerpieces), magnolias, and where we are, tulips, calla lillies and roses are all available year-round. oh, don't forget poinsettias!! they would make lovely centerpieces, gifts, or pew/aisle decorations.

Here's some examples to help you out:

I think the lighter purples might compliment the royal purple shade.

Yes, there are two lavender roses, one called Blue Bird and one called Delilah. Their shade varies from a sort of mauve to a more lavender look depending on the time of year and where they are grown. They look most like the flowers in picture #2.

Syringa,
Is that labeadel's pic #2 or Suzy's pic #2, just for clarification?

Lebeadel's picture #2 and #3; sorry, I didn't pay attention to the fact that two different people posted the pictures.

Hello!

I am also getting married in December and I am planning to add Blue Spruce among other winter flowers such as Amarylis, I really want a unique bouquet. I am making it myself.

Bye now.
