Feeling blue.....
<< sigh >>
I'm feeling blue.. I keep hearing about everyone having showers, etc.. and I feel left out... I seem to be losing out on things since I'm a second time Bride and a bit older and having a small wedding...
Anyone got a spare hug???

I've got bunches of hugs for you! Try to focus on things that you are excited about! Getting your dress, picking flowers and combining households!

Don't feel blue hon - you're marrying the right man this time and that's what is important.

Thanks all for the wonderful hugs...
No one seems too interested in our wedding here...
But your all right.. Its the wedding that counts but can I admit that I'm jealous and wish someone would spoil me..
PMS blues... Pain blues.... gosh I need a drink... or a good cry...

We kinda have that same problem, and I'm a first time bride! FMIL is pretty...I don't want to say masculine, but very non girly and has no interest in anything except showing up. My mom is more girly but works a lot and is busy with grandkids and stuff so only knows what I tell her and doesn't really ask more. So sometimes I definitely wish people were more excited about but then I think about how great it is that I'm getting married to Casey, and how awesome it's going to be to have everyone there together and just what a wonderful day it's going to be. It's good to try to focus on those things, what you do have, rather than what you feel you don't.

Maybe you will be surprised and some friends will throw you a shower. I know I doubted I was getting one until a friend (my MOH) said she and a BM were throwing together a little party for me and to show up. I got there and girl, there were so many family and friends (even from work) it gave me tears and still does. But even if you don't get a shower, know that you are loved, thought about and cared for. That you have impacted people's lives for the better. Rejoice that you have been given the greatest gift of all, a wonderful FH. A man that you can and will grow old with, whom you can share your dreams and even fears with. A man that will hold your hand, and know that you will do the same for him. Is there any better gift?

Oh my gosh -- I thought I was the ONLY one out here feeling that way! I've received absolutely no support from family (especially the ones who are supposed to be in the wedding -- go figure), other than my aunt who is officiating at the ceremony. I, too, believe it's because it's my second wedding, but it DF's first. I've been so sad lately about it, but continue to remind myself that when it's all said and done, we'll be married to each other and that's what counts. Believe it or not my caterer has been the absolute most supportive person for both of us.

Just an update....
The wonderful ladies at another forum surprised me with an e-vite shower.. A few from another forum have joined in.. What happens is the e-vite has my address and they will mail stuff and I have to promise not to open it till Feb 10. At that time my daughter will take pictures and I get to open my shower gifts.. Its so nice that a group of strangers reached into their hearts and did this..
