Our wedding is scheduled for late december, and the Bridesmaids dresses will be hunter green. What color/type of flowers can I use that wont be too Christmassy. We want to try to keep the 2 seperate even though they will be less than a week apart.

Because you are using green, the color of leaves, you can use just about any color that you want for your flowers. The main concern will be to use flowers that are light enough to show up in your wedding pictures against the dark background. You might use white, ivory, pale yellow, pink, or a combination of those colors.
If your wedding is fairly formal, you may want to use a lot of roses. If it is less formal, you might use a mix of flowers.
Good luck with your planning.

My fiance and I are also getting married late December (the 21st to be exact) and the church that we are getting married at will be filled with poinsettias, lit trees, etc...our dresses are navy blue and we wanted something that wouldn't clash with either the dresses or the decorations in the church. We are just going to use all white (probably roses) flowers and are putting navy blue ribbon in as an accent...I think white is a perfect choice in your (and my) situation!!

My wedding was in February, but we used hunter green for the bridesmaid dresses. We ended up going with ivory roses that were hand-tied with hunter green ribbon. The flowers looked absolutely stunning with the dresses and not at all "Christmassy."
I'd go with ivory or cream. If you use red, it will look extremely "Christmassy" and I don't think another color would look nice with hunter green.

You could use a dark purple (plum) as the other color. Calla lillies look good with these colors.

miss w--since your dresses are navy blue and your using white flowers, i think that silvery (even a word?lol) ribbon with the bouquets would look really pretty. especially with the white lights and all. im not trying to get you to change your mind, it just popped into my head when i was picturing it.

My wedding is also in December; our colors are plum and silver to match with the decorations of the ceremony/reception sites, but to stay away from the traditional X-mas colors as we too want to separate the occasions.
We have chosen a spring bouquet blend (gerbera daisies, freesia, chrysanthemums, ivy, etc)and believe it or not they are in season year round, which also makes them less expensive. We are having loose flowers tied with ribbon and the stems showing so that they can be placed on the head table as centerpieces after the ceremony and pictures. Unless you're having them freeze dried, this is the best way to get the most out of the flowers.

I agree with the other readers, I would use a light colored flower. Possibly an antique pink and ivory rose combination. I believe they both compliment hunter green very well. Good luck with everything and remember it's your wedding, go with what you think looks best.
