i have to confirm my flower choices in the next week or 2 with my planner. and i'm just not sure what i want.
well i kind of do but i'm trying to figure out the combination of things that will look good and not like too much.
it's a casual beach wedding in Maui. so we have to have leis, it's part of the ceremony. for the leis i'm thinking of maile (green leafy vine lookin thing) with small flowers in it, it's the more traditional hawaiian look. but do i want white flowers, they stand out best against the green but i'm not wearing white, my dress is cream. the groom is wearing blue so i thought maybe blue but they won't show as nicely in the photos.
then i have to decide on what else i want... either a bouquet and a single matching flower to put in my hair, or no bouquet and a haku (ring of flowers on the head). i think a bouquet, haku and lei would be too much.
if i do a bouquet it will be either a small assortment of little tropical flowers like plumeria, or 3 large flowers, each a different colour surrounded just by greens, i can't decide which. i like things in 3's lol.
*sigh*
the reception is easy, we're using fake hibiscus flower heads and just scattering them over the tables, and lots and lots of leis (fake). because there is no dinner (just fingerfoods) there isn't a formal place setting so we're going to place the leis on the table at each seat where the plate would be. and our centrepieces are rosebowls with floating candles and lei headbands and bracelets which happen to fit perfectly around the bowls. i'll post photos of course
