San Francisco honeymoon

Hi! My wedding is the last weekend of the year, very close now! I’ve been pretty busy with the planning and my job so the plan was that my soon-to-be husband and I weren’t going to have a honeymoon until much later next year. But now, thanks to very generous gift from one of my aunts, we’ve been invited to housesit her home in San Francisco for a week at the end of January. My husband has never been to SF and I haven’t been there since I was in high school but neither of us is really into the typical tourist things like Alcatraz or that sort of thing – I seriously find it boring! So I need a little help, what must we absolutely do in the week we’re there that I won’t find in all the San Francisco guidebooks? Thanks so much!

I just wanted to pop into say congrats to you because your wedding is so soon! I live about half an hour south of San Francisco and love the city and visit there a lot. Since you’ll be there in January, it will be the start of the Chinese New Year so there might be some fun things going on around China Town. I also like the North Beach and Marina areas, which have Coit Tower and the Palace of Fine Arts respectively and both places are really pretty for walks and pictures. I would suggest checking websites like Flavorpill or Craig’s List for SF or signing up for a service like 4info if you have a mobile phone since all those will give you options for places to visit and eat and that sort of thing.
