I'm doing my cousins wedding!
My aunt just called and ask if I could take over a wedding for her. She already has one that weekend and having 2 is just to much for her to handle. She will help but she don't have the time to plan it and decorate with every thing she has right now. I'm so excited! I'm waiting on the bride to call me to give me all the details. I just wanted to share! The wedding is Feb. 4th! They really are already married but it was a quickie wedding he had to go over seas and after he returns in Jan they wanted to have a formal wedding.

I would love to I just don't know enough to quite my really job and do it. lol For now I'm just trying to get my foot in the door. I was in a wedding at this church it will be at and I have always said I would love to be able to do a wedding there. It is really big so it's going to take some creative thinking to make this work but I'm sure with your all your input on things every thing will be great.

I've actually been tossing around the idea of helping/doing weddings as a 2nd job. I love doing it, and it would be some nice extra cash.
But that's cool Lj, you'll do great!!!

LJ- maybe you should start to put together a portfolio of sorts. Take pictures of the weddings that you coordinate and helpt to coordinate. It's a booming business! Start it as a supplement-your-income sort of endeavour and once you become better known and have a BOOMING business you can do it full time!
You and Breezy both!! Start a biz together!!

How exciting!!!
I too think it would be fun to help with weddings......but I honestly love my job now and don't think I would ever quit it for anything. I don't think I love weddings quite as much.
Plus, I don't have enough patience to deal with other people probably.....

I hope someone I know asks me to do theirs once i'm a qualified planner, It'd be a great starting point!

wow sounds really cool!!! I toyed with the idea of becoming a wedding planner but then decided that I am way too strong willed and may not like how other people want to do their own wedding . I decided I would probably make a better teacher instead

I know what you mean, M T -- if someone was going to do something ultra-tacky, I'm not sure I would be able to keep my mouth shut, otherwise I'd LOVE to plan weddings, too!

I would love to be a wedding coordinator, as a side job!! After all of the research I have done, and the contacts that I have made, it would be an easy role to get into. I could do some of the things that the brides would want, but others it would be hard to keep my mouth shut (I have a bad problem of being too honest sometimes!!). No offence to cinderella themes, it is just not my style, and it would be hard for me to want to do it!! Also, you have to remember that not everyone has a million to spend on it....
So, maybe I would be a great one if someone had a million to spend and did it just the way a wanted... which is not in the job description.
I should just stick to my day job!!

Wow.. taking over a wedding just in time for the crunch time, that takes a lot of guts.
Good luck, hope all the details work out great for you and the bride to be
