Lol, I think that no matter how much you plan and follow timelines, you're always going to run into a time crunch (unless you've hired a planner, and then they deal with it lol). Just roll with the flow, and it'll all come together beautifully! We're here for ya!!!

ljeagle...

Didn't you order your cake? And book your church/reception hall? Or were those just possibilities that you didn't decide on yet?

Church is book as of the 6th. Some reason every church we went and looked at would not book until 5 months b-4 the event. The cake has been picked out but we haven't taken it to the lady yet. She has a shop in the area and with the holidays here she won't have time to talk with us until after new years. I'm not worried about the cake it is a given. I guess I'm just worried about the little things. I've planed a wedding b-4 and looking back it just seems like I had my ducks in a row a lot more then now. Just so much is going on. I did get my cake server and knife in today. I guess after Christmas things will come together. I hope any ways...

Don't worry about it. I didn't even start planning until 5 months before my wedding and everything turned out perfect. . I didn't even feel a time crunching panic the week before.

I know where you're coming from! I have a ticker on my desk top & when it hit 4 months+ I got butterflies!

I guess it seems close because almost a whole month out of that will be taken by the holidays, you'll spend so much time sorting out Christmas that the wedding'll probably get pushed to one side till new year... At least that's how it's going for me! So that'll take you to 3months+ at which point everything *really* needs to get moving!

Let me see... What's on my list...

Ok,
you've got your dress... has your mum started work on the alterations of the top?

Have you booked the reception venue? If not do you have a shortlist? Have you compared prices/location/facilities/service?

Entertainment.. band/dj? Anything booked?

Cake... Have you made an appointment for Jan. to see the baker?

Menswear.. do you know what the guys will wear? Have you priced the outfits or found a supplier you like? Do you know when the deposits are due?

Bridal party... have you picked your attendants? Do you know what they'll wear? Have you considered their gifts? Do they know what their duties will be?

Music... have you picked music for the ceremony? Do you know what the church will allow? Do the have a PA system for you to use/will they provide an organist?

Beauty... Have you thought about how you'd like your hair/ make up to be? What about your attendants? Have you tried out any looks?

Accessories... have you got your veil/tiara/head dress? Have you thought about which (if any) you'd like?

Invitations... Have you found any you like? Have you ordered them?

Flowers... have you booked a florist? Do you know what kind of look/flowers you'd like to have? Have you written down & priced how many of each you'll need? (I'm mean 1 bridal bouquet + 2 BM + 2 FGirl + 6 corsages + 10 buttonholes...)

Photographer... Have you booked your photographer yet? Do you know what kind of style or coverage you'd like? Have you seen their work? Have you met to discuss your expctations?

Videographer... Do you want one? Have you booked already?

Honeymoon... Have you decided on a budget for it? Have you talked over the options? Have you booked it? Have you got the date when the final payment is due?

Rings... Have you decided on what kind of ring you'd like/ you FH would like? Have you been to try some on with you Ering? Have you ordered them? (We're waiting for the sales to start!)

I think that is about everything I can think of just now!

Oh one more... Transport have you book cars? Do you need to hire transport for the guests from the church to the reception? Have you worked out how many cars the bridal party will need?

555Ann555 your making think lol. Lets see

Mom is not doing the alterations on the dress for a few more months. Scared I will loss more weight.

reception and ceremony is in the same place it is booked.

No Entertainment.. band/DJ every thing is in a church.

I have a apt. in Jan for the cake.

Menswear I have no clue I know what I want but can't find the right color shirt. I don't want to make them where a tux. My fh will wear one but we talked about it and the men is going to wear suites with a red/black shirt. My mother might end up making them out of the material of my BM dress. Or at least make a tie out of the same material.

Bm dress I had one picked out and a few had been made for a while but we changed colors so thats back at the start. I think I know what dress I want. It has no sleeves but it has like 2 inch straps so then we will have to make a scarf for the one who has bigger arms. I want them a little different so I might just do different colors. Put one in black with the red straps, and the other in the red dress with black straps. So thats still in the air.

Music has been pick out and we have someone to sing them but we are having a problem. The women is still down south with all the mess. We are hoping they let her come back soon.

My veil is made and looks good but have no clue how to do my hair.

Invitations thats a laugh. We have looked at a few but can't find any we both like.

For the Flowers my aunt is doing them. I think I'm going to use real so we have to wait till that day to do those. We do know what we want.

I'm still yet to get a contract from my Photographer. grrrrr

for the Honeymoon we have no clue yet. We do know we will have to wait till the next weekend.

He has my ring but I don't have his yet. GRRRR

I think it's more of little things I'm worried about. Things to decorate with.

lol Ann We won't be able to take the HM till June when school lets out. We have picked out his ring just have to go pick it up. It's been in for 2 weeks I just have not had the time to go get it. Picked the girls dresses out and I ordered the fabric on Wed. So it should be here any day. We did make our final invite list out today. So now I can order invitation. It's coming along just slowly...

Yeah! You've made some progress!

I on the other hand have got bugger all done in the last month! I did get the fabric for my 2 FGs' dresses... Went with black satin because every grey fabric I saw next to my dress looked dirty rather than silvery. I'm actually really happy with the black, it would have been my first choice if I wasn't taking anyone elses opinion on board! Moreno loves the idea of everone being in black (appart from me ) so he's quite happy with my choice... Moreno has picked his ring out but we've not ordered it... I don't know if you've seen the problem I've had with mine, I'm waiting on the replacement arriving to see wht it looks like before I decide what to do...

So do you know yet if the woman you want to sing will be able to? Will you hire a dj for the reception?

Oh I have a million questions
What time of day is your wedding? Are you having a big reception? Buffet? Will you have a few days break after the wedding?

NO I had not seen that u was having trouble. What happen?
I talked with Angie yesterday and things look good. Her FH has the music and don't see a problem with it. She is down south with all the mess but she should be back in the middle of Feb. Keeping my fingers crossed. She said if they keep her longer then she will ask for leave for a few days. I do have back up female but I would have to find a male.

Our reception is at a church so we are not having dancing or music. I am thinking about having a harpist but not sure if I can get the one I want. We picked 3pm for the time but might go with 4 pm we have a little time to play with it. Food at the wedding will be Buffet thats still in the works. FH will have to leave out the Sunday b-4 the wedding but will be back on Thur. and won't have to leave back out till Tues. I'm taking from Wed. till Tues off. I can take more time off work if I need it.

Oh for *&)"!'s sake... I just typed our a whole long reply and tried to post it and it didn't work and now what I've typed is gone

OH well... the short version is Moreno chose his own, this is the one he *loves*

I tried to talk him out of it because it's titanium and one of the girls on here says they can't cut the ring if there is an accident but he really wants this one and doesn't work with his hands so hopefully it'll be OK. He's certainly old enough to make his own decisions!

LJ:I typed out most of the ring story too but it's gone if you want to see what happened it's here...

ETA: Jaqueline: I've not heard of the grooms ring being kept as a surprise from him... Over here his BM keeps both sets of rings for the wedding.

My DH picked out his ring too. I like what he chose, but it's totally not what I would have picked for him. I've never heard of the bride choosing the ring for the groom before.

My FH was thinking about titanium as well. It was just after the discussion here about not being able to cut it off and it scared me. I told him all about it and now he's saying he didn't really want titanium. I feel bad if I talked him out of it but I also like him with all ten fingers.

We're shopping for both of our wedding bands together this week or next week. We'll see what he actually picks out then.
