Default A little update...and pics

Hello!

I know I have been absent for the past couple of months, but life is crazy. Being a first year teacher I am constantly fighting off some virus or sickness. So as I type this I am on sickness number five since school started. School is crazy busy, who would have thought that teaching Kindergarten would be so hard. I am non stop from 715 until 530 everyday, and I usually bring work home. I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. The hubby is doing great, he is about to graduate with his masters. Work is going well for him as he is excelling in his career.

We put up our christmas lights and christmas tree last weekend. We bought a small 6ft prelit tree just to make things easy. I had fun setting it up with him. I opened all of his ornaments from growing up and put them on the tree. We hung a couple of strands of lights outside. Enough to make it feel like Christmas. We still need to get some stockings to hang by the tree.

Next weekend we are going to my school Christmas party and his work party. His company christmas party is a real fancy occasion. It is being held at a Marriot hotel. Full catering and open bar with dancing. I am so excited. I got a new dress and everything. The hubby got us a room at the hotel for the night and we are going to Disney the next day, probably Epcot to see their Holiday events.

All is well over here...Hope everyone is having a great week!

Looks like you lit the cats eyes up with the tree. Great Pics.

I'm glad to hear everything is going well for you, but I am sorry you have been sick so often, I'm sure it will get better as you work with the kids more and build up an immunity to their bugs.

Glad to hear everything is going well for you!! I know what you mean about the sickness....I've been sick a couple times too and I'm always one of the last teachers at school....I swear I never run out of things to do. The life of a first year teacher I guess....I'm glad to hear your school year is going well though!!!

Cute tree! THe kitties eyes are crazy!! You should try airborne. You can get it at walgreens. A teacher created it who was tired of getting sick! I hope you feel better!

Working in nursing I am around sick people all day too. Is there anyway you could carry some of the hand gel in your pocket to use? I am either constantly using hand gel or washing my hands...... ALWAYS. It's not 100% but it might help. Also since you work with such little guys could you buy a big container and place it by your desk or something and encourage the children to keep clean hands? I know you shouldn't have to buy it but when my mom was teaching I remember every little item that was special that she felt would be good for the kids she bought herself....... anyway a big bottle with a pump might be an idea, plus encourage children to wash their hands at a sink often too........

Great pictures. thank you for sharing!

I will take some of our tree later and post too.... BTW Ollie crawled under the tree last night and pulled the tree skirt out into the middle of the room! bad doggy!

Thanks guys for all of the kind words. I love the tree and my little kitty. She unfortunately isn't always that cute I wash my hands constantly at school, but having 18 fie year olds isn't the healthiest place to be

Oh I know how you feel, I am constantly sick--I am a first grade teacher. And...I have never worked so hard in my life, I teach for 10 hours a day and then come home to grade papers and do lesson plans until I go to sleep that night. It is seriously one of the hardest jobs!!!!! (On top of that I am a cheerleading coach) Hopefully it gets easier each year!
