Default Deoderant love

We all know how important not having pit-stains on your wedding gown is. Normally I'm 1 sweaty broad. And I'd actually gotten used to the idea that no deoderant would ever work perfectly for me. Soooo I stuck with Secret's soft solid (the 2 clicks thing) since it was good-enough. I mean, I didn't stink or anything so that was good enough for me. Then I tried Lady Mitchum's soft-solid - same thing, only sweatier. I sign up for freebies all the time, and I signed up for the Dove 7-day challenge (invisible solid). I didn't use my sample until yesterday, and I don't know how I ever held out this long. I am not sweaty - at all. Granted, the true test is during the summer, but even during cold weather I get a little dampness goin' on in the ol' passion pits. But I'm not moist at all, here on day 2. Dry as the Sahara. Their one free sample has made a lifetime customer out of me. Just thought I'd recommend incase there are any other leaky pores out there like me, or you want to be ultra-dry on the big day.

Now - I heard this tip from a bridal community on Livejournal. To avoid sweating feet on the big day you use a spray deoderant on them. Anyone done this to verify the validity of that? I don't have a huge foot sweat problem so it's not a big deal. But since I'm good at asking grotesque questions I figured I'd slip this in.

I LOVE Dove deodorant. I will never, ever use anything else again. I have such super sensitive armpits and I always got razor burn, but not with Dove. And it keeps me nice and dry, too. I totally love it. I don't know what the heck they did to make it so good...but it's good.

I love Dove deodorant. I wore it with my wedding dress and I have no pit stains LOL. I am now wearing Adidas deodorant which is pretty good too.

I've heard of spraying deodorant on feet and palms of hands if you're super sweaty. I've also heard that baby powder works well too. I've used just regular deodorant on my feet during the summer (don't worry, it wasn't one I used on my pits...it was a trial size one) and it worked pretty well. I use the baby powder for a quick fix if I can't get my hands to stop being all sweaty (which doesn't happen very often). So if that helps.....

i love the shampoo/conditioner, but i'm the only one the deodorant doesn't work well for, huh?? i mean, i, like cru5h, get sweaty, and i HATE that (i am super-dooper paranoid about being smelly anywhere anytime), but while the smell of dove is incredible, i always felt wet and begun to suspect smelliness after a few hours. my deodorant of choice is arrid solid in the morning scent. works like a charm. in general, the clear gels don't work for me, but all the soft solids do.

Lordy woman you're hysterical! I just went to an endicrinologist for this problem- only I sweat from my HEAD!!!! And I don't much like the idea of rolling or spraying anything on my face/head! The doc told me Botox would be an option. Sure if I want to have absolutely no emotions register on my face!!

I use Arrid XXX stick. Best stuff. But now I am intrigued to try Dove!

Question

Does anyone ever feel like they get immune to the deodorant they use? I have to switch between Dove and Secret a couple times a year. It just works great for a while then it seems like it gradually stops working... I dunno, maybe I am just weird!

Default Deoderant Theory

Yes, I actually have a theory on deoderant. Yes, I am aware I am a freak, but feel free to comment anyway. I always used to think I had gotten immune to my deoderant and would switch. But then I thought, you know, I bet I am just associating the scent of my deoderant with "Pit Smell" and it's just psychological. If I get warm, and I can smell my deoderart, I freak out and think "Oh my God I can smell my own pits!" which was true, but it wasn't funk, it just smelled like the scent of my deoderant. I decided to test this theory and switched to Unscented Secret, which has a litte bit of a scent but it pretty much just smells a little like soap. I figured if it was really going to stop working, I would be able to smell funkiness without having to sort it out from whatever scent I was wearing. Anyway, after wearing this stuff for a few months and constantly sniffing my pits to see if I ever smelled actual pit funk, I decided that my theory was true, and that I was just associating whatever scent of deoderant I was wearing with being able to smell my armpits and freaking out for no reason. The entire time I was wearing (yes, and sniffing) the unscented stuff I was never stinky, I couldn't smell anything. I am sure that some people do get immune and have to switch, since everyone's chemistry is different, but this was not the case with me.

Dove products are the only ones I use . The doves body wash is really good too. I have a problem with major dry skin and nothing has helped until i used dove . Dove Deoderant is the only DO I will wear.

You ladies mustn't "glow" much ( Horses sweat, men perspire and ladies only glow! That's an old expression!)

I don't know which Dove antiperspirant I picked up but it smells like bubblegum and I am not dry at all!! I tried it because the store was out of my usual brand and this was on sale.

I continue my search......

I loved that new dove we all was talking about. But here lately I can tell it's not working like it use to. So don't feel bad I have to find something that is going to work for me. I don't want to have spots under my arm for the wedding...

Lj, my dove isn't working as well either. Like it quits in the middle of the day. I have to reapply. WTF?

Ok, I'm a strictly "roll-on" girl. I HATE any type of stick, gel, whatever. There only ever seems to be one or two "roll-ons" in the store at any given time (usually Dove or Secret--I like both). But there are like a kazillion (yes, I made up a number!) sticks, gels. I hate those. They're thick and sticky. They get ALL OVER my clothes. Am I really in the minority with liking roll-ons? My fear is that roll-ons are being phased out!

I DO find that I occasionally need to switch deodorants, shampoos, etc. My body seems to get used to one kind. I still LOVE my Dove and hate when I switch off for a while. Even though other deodorants keep me smelling good, they don't help my skin like Dove does.

The Dove is still working for me, but I do believe that for some people, they need to "switch it up" every once in awhile.

I cannot use Secret. I used it once, and my armpits broke out in this horribly painful rash. I couldn't even lower my arms down by my sides without being in pain.

This thread had me intrigued with Dove. So I bought the travel size for the honeymoon and I love it! It smells good and makes me feel fresh. I don't know about not sweating though...I never sweat. I'm always freezing.

However, I know what you mean about it not working after a while. I feel like our bodies grow immune to the deoderant we use after a few months. So I usually switch brands after one stick is all used up. I go between Secret, Degree, and now Dove.

I have never had dove to clump up and stop working till the last few days. I can't handle the clumps! There is a new kind of clear out I have seen it on TV. U can get a sample of it but I can't remember who it was by. If any one has seen it on TV and can remember please pass it on.

Thanks for the free sample link. I just requested it.

The Dove I currently use is called "invisible" but not "clear" - sometimes I get the clumps that ljeagle is talking about.
