Hi girls,

I just need to vent because we are getting very frustrated with one of our groomsmen.

Okay so Damon and his Groomsmen are having their suits made by a really good tailor we know in Thailand and having them delivered to NZ, anyway we asked the boys months ago to get their measurements to us so that we could get the order in in plenty of time so that we werent scrambling around at the last minute. Two of the guys went and got their measurements the next day and called us with them, the other groomsman (Francis) hasnt got them to us and we cant get hold of him!!!!! We have emailed and emailed, his mobile number has changed and we dont have his current address! He is an Artist and Art Teacher and he is your typical Artist, a bit airey fairey lives in La la land a little bit - dont get me wrong we love him to death, he is so much fun, he can just be so bloody unreliable sometimes!!!!
We know the school he works at and I have emailed my Mum this morning and asked her to call there tomorrow and try and get a message to him (we'll be fast asleep, other side of the world)!! I am hoping he responds to the message from my Mum otherwise we dont know what to do - we dont want to go ahead and order the suits without him because they all need to be matching, and we dont want to guess his measurements because we would get it totally wrong! AAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Anyway thanks girls I feel better now! Vent over!

Side note: anyone who is thinking 'why the hell would you have your suits made in Thailand?' there are awesome Tailors in Thailand and really dirt cheap, when we were there last time we had loads of really good quality stuff made for next to nothing! The boys will probably get beautifully Tailored suits made using the best materials for about £40each (aprox us$70), whereas the same thing off the rack in London would probably cost £400!!!

Ugh! That is annoying! To be honest though, you may have to face the possibility if your mom can't get a hold of him of going on without him. If he hasn't contacted you or given you updated info, he may be off on a big time la la trip, which may ultimately make him more of a headache on your wedding day regardless. I do hope you can get in touch-I had an AWOL bridesmaid for a while that drove me insane!

I'm sorry Hun, I can just imagine how annoying this must be for you

I hope he wouldn't do this, but if he is being this unreliable now, how can you be sure he will show up to the wedding. I don't know him, and I hope he wouldn't do that to you, but it did cross my mind while I was reading your thread.

That's so freaking annoying. Why are some people just so damn irresponsible? Seriously, it's not that hard!!

I agree with the other ladies....

(1) it is just annoying when it is getting close to the wedding and bridal party member are irresponsible!!!

(2) if your mom can't get ahold of him, then I might count him out and figure out how to go on without him. If he ends up showing up, maybe have him just be a guest....after all, you weren't able to count on him.

Okay good news girls - my Mum got hold of him and spoke to him yesterday!!!!

And extra bonus - there was an email waiting for me this morning with all this measurements, he got the sewing teacher at his school to take them for him!

So huge PHEW!!!!

Thanks girls for listening to my rant - hopefully this is the only problem we come across

Damon can get the order in to Thaliand today - I feel far more relaxed now!
