DF wants his ring from overstock.com!!!!
So we were talking… and Khalid told me to buy his wedding ring at overstock.com….. I don’t know about that!!!!! He said that he never had a bad experience with them. But I’m a little concern about buying a wedding ring online!!!! What do you think about it? Should I buy it online? Do you know of a different website that I might find a good deal and the site to be a trusted one???

I use Overstock.com all the time and I've never had any issues with quality or customer service. I say save a few bucks and go for it. If it doesn't fit properly, you can always take it to a jeweler to have it sized properly and that doesn't cost a lot at all.

I Love overstock.com and I really think that you should look and see what they have. They always have sales with free shipping too. The ring will be what it says and the quality of what it says, they are pretty reliable.

I love it too! We nearly bought my set from there but we were "thinking" about it too much and it was gone!

I have also bought jewelry from Overstock (not rings, but necklaces and earrings) as well as some clothes, and always been pleased. I think the only concern should be the size--have him check his size at a jeweler (they don't charge to do that), and as Heather said you can always have it sized pretty reasonably if needed.

Oh, I'd go for it -- you can always have it resized!

Careful. You can't always get a ring it resized - especially if it's
1. a man's ring with a design encircling the band
2. if it needs to be resized more than 1/2 - 1 ring size
They will either have to cut it (to remove or add a piece) and they usually can't match the design or join it seemlessly. If they need to "stretch it", this too can affect the design and they can only stretch it so much.
We found this out the hard way. We bought a beautiful ring online at Costco but all of the jewellers that we brought it to didn't want to touch it because it wouldn't "look right" after they had finished resizing it.
If you are worried about buying online, if you live in a large centre, but you want to save a few $$$ try looking for a jewellery wholesaler in the yellow pages. We made an appt. to go in to see some men's bands, bought a beautiful ring and saved $$$$ too.

Thanks everybody for the advice, I'm going to look into it and try to get as much information as possible. If I decide to go with it, I'll make sure to have his size..... I'll let yall know how it goes... of course that will be next year..... Thanks again....

We just had both of our rings resized, Bob had to go up 1 1/4 I think and our bands have a small ridge design, there was no problem, but we used a jeweler we trust, Bob use to work with the manager, so we also get good deals when he can give them to us . Maybe a more complicated design would be a no-no.
I would use some caution, I hear that some metals are harder to resize, but still say if it is straight forward, and they come in the size you need, go for it! If you have to resize it then it would only be a little bit.

He just want a simple plain white gold band comfort fit band. No designs, no nothing.... which makes my search a lot easy.... I did look in overstock and found one for basically $90.00 and free shipping. I think that's good, but it didn't say anything about comfort fit. We'll see.....

I bought both of ours online (and had them shipped to us from the US) I had no problems, I just made sure we knew the right sizes!

I can't remember where I got my Mo's from I just went to check if I still had the link, but I deleted all the wedding stuff I didn't think I'd need after the wedding! Mine was from a store on ebay! If you find the engagement ring post you'll get the background

I would check the return and exchange policy. I have bought many things online (not from Overstock, but have looked at things there). If the return or exchange policy is good it will let you exchange the ring if there is a problem with it, ie size, flaws, etc.
Other than that go for it

Online jeweler
I would go with an online jeweler rather than Overstock.com. Overstock won't be able to give you as thorough help or answers as a jeweler. We went through Abazias.com, but there are a number of other good online jewelers who can match or beat Overstock for price and help.
